I found this forum while trying to find someone who could possibly repair my male peacock dragon. I purchased him last week and he was shipped in poor conditions (he was wrapped in paper towels surrounded by plastic bags in a weak box) and, of course, arrived damaged. The top ridge at the back of his head was smashed to smithereens.
I have tried contacting people listed as doing repair work on the forum but haven’t heard anything. I’m working against a time frame, as I need to get an estimate so I can recover funds from the seller for the repair work.
If anybody could help or at least point me in the right direction where I might get the process going, I would be ever so appreciative! Thank you.
May 2, 2011 at 3:52 am #844171can you post some photos of what the damage looks like? There are a few here who do repair work that may not be on the list yet.
May 2, 2011 at 6:38 am #844180Thank you for replying, KoishiiKitty.
Here are some pictures of the damages. I’ve taken more but these sum it up pretty well.
May 2, 2011 at 4:14 pm #844206That does not look too bad. I posted a link to your question in my thread in the pyo section. The forum recently went through a format change and people are still getting used to it, but new posts some times get lost because of that.
If no one contacts you, I can do the repair. I want to wait and see if some one else would be interesting in repairing him first though.
May 2, 2011 at 7:13 pm #844233Right now, what you need is the estimated cost of the repair to give to the seller in order to get your money, and you need it ASAP. AFTER you are actually reimbursed, you can find a person willing to take it on. Is this right?
May 3, 2011 at 8:53 pm #844345Thank you, KoishiiKitty, for all your help!
May 3, 2011 at 9:00 pm #844347Syn, I would like a repair estimate from someone who is willing to do the work, not just a general idea on what the repair might cost. But if that’s not possible, then I will have to take a general estimate so I can get reimbursed by the seller.
Also, I’m willing to be wait-listed for the repair.
May 3, 2011 at 9:05 pm #844348Edit: just read your post to Syn 🙂
Did you try emailing Drag0nfeathers by chance? I know she is really full up with repair work right now, but she could give an idea of general rates.
May 3, 2011 at 9:26 pm #844350Did you look at the “Repair Work” sticky at the beginning of this topic (or section, or whatever it is called)? A few people have put their info there, including drag0nfeathers, but you would still have to ask for estimates.
EDIT – oops, after rereading your first post it looks as though you have. I wish I had other suggestions.May 4, 2011 at 12:04 am #844367Yes, I did. Thanks!
May 4, 2011 at 1:01 am #844377No worries and I’m sorry for not responding right away! ^_^; This was my first day off from my new job and I don’t have the same kind of internet liberties as I used to while at work. This was my first day off since I got back from the convention so I’ve been a little MIA. I responded to your PM this morning kessho and got your reply too. At the moment I have a large repair job I am working on for another forum member and I have one person on the wait list after that. If you need this done within the next few months I’d see about maybe enlisting another repair person, but if you want to wait then I have no problems doing it myself ^_^
Oh, and the price I gave you is just what I would estimate the job at. It’s entirely possible that someone else my give you a less expensive or more expensive price. I sort of make my prices up depending on how long I think it will take me to do the job and on how hard I think it will be for me to match the color. Just keep that in mind when trying to recoup the costs from your seller.
