Naw, you don’t have to dress up. Lots of people come in mundane dress. I’ve a few costumes and the wench ones are so much more comfortable but I do wear my upper class/royalty at Haloween and you oughta see the looks I get when I answer the door. I even get my hair done for my tiara and then have to wear the dumb thng all day….. It makes vaccumming more fun…., I make fairy wings also. Never sold any, I just do it for fun. Mada a pair for my niece when she was born, had a 4 inch wing span. Had a pic taken of her in nothing but her pink sparlky wings and peal bracelet I made. My twins HATE it when I start on new batches wings….”MOM! we can’t go to school to school with pink and purple sparkles in our hair and clothers……..!” 😀 It’s lot of fun to do; let me know if you’d like help!

OOH wings? I used to have a pair of really nice burgandy ones, but my dad accidentally tossed them the last time he went through the garage. He is now under direct orders to call me befoe he throws anything out. They were expensive too! Do you have any pictures?Dang those look like fun! We don’t have anything like that here 🙁
Purpledoggy – for Alyssa at this age you wouldn’t need much. A long Nightsirt/simple cotton own and a pair of little leather or knitted moccassins would be about right. Plus the nightshirt/gown makes it asy to change her!
Dragonmistress – There are pregnancy corsets and cinchers. I could look for a pattern for you.

I’ll give pointers in a bit; gotta get the boys from school, but they’re LOTS of fun to make! (and easy)

My hubby and I are performers at the MN Ren Fest. He’s the wizard, and he runs the Riddle Booth. I sometimes play Wanda the Wizard’s Wife, and sometimes I’m a hobbit. 😀 I’ll try to find pics.

This was taken at a halloween party..but it’s what I wore to the MD renn fest!!! That’s a dragon puppet on my shoulder made by on of the vendors at the festival. It has a thin pipe that wraps around you and you can turn the knob at the tip of it to make the dragon move his head around!!

Oh wow! What a small world. I have a dragon puppet like that. Mine is black and purple. I got it eons ago at a Sci Fi convention. I’ve been to a few Ren Faires, but most of my costumes were worn at Sci Fi conventions.
Great Costumes everyone! Purple your husband did a great job on the staff. Does he make and sell them? My father has a serious knee problem and his doctor told him to get a cane but he refuses to do so. I figure that if I get him a staff he would be more inclined towards using it.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

Misummer Knight’s Dream comes to the Georgia Ren Faire too. I got my pegasus shoulder puppet from Imaginarium Galleries though.
*SQUEE!* I just found out The Lipizzan Stallions are going to be at this year’s ren faire! I really have to go now!

*Whimper* Wish I knew where to go, but I don’t. And can’t go to far afield anyway. Need time off to do that. Probably wont make Trek at Vulcan again this year.
Make cloth Diapers(Don’t buy ’em for these types of events because they’ll be too “Finished”) that have to be tied at the sides and let her go in those. 😀 Also those slings that were talked about in another thread, if you can find the right ones you can use them, they’re actually based on Historical baby carriers. Just remember to think about what pattern and type of Fabric.
I go to the MD ren fest too! I have one of those shoulder puppets but mine doesn’t have wings. I played a trick on the McDonalds drive thru window guy with it. I had it in my lap and when I pulled up to the window I made it turn its head towards him and he freaked out, lol. My husband is trying to make more staffs but the weather is too cold for him to carve them. He wants to make some to sell and some to give to friends. He keeps nagging me for staff ideas because he wants to make me one but I told him we can’t both carry staffs and push the baby at the same time.
