If you press the “notify” button you will receive an email telling you when they’ve been restocked. And if everyone who wants one presses that button, it will give us a good idea of how many more we need to convince Melody to paint J) But she may need a little rest from painting them before she embarks upon more. And keep adding your squeaks to this thread.
August 17, 2011 at 8:07 pm #853744I pressed notify probably like 15 times as if it helped my chances >_< LOL!

Would that work with this piece?
August 17, 2011 at 9:29 pm #853750This Flap Cat honestly becomes more and more eye-catching every single time I look at it!
(Please add a loud “SQUEAK” from me too!) 🙂August 17, 2011 at 10:27 pm #853755In the past, people have suggested having a presale or reservation set up for “difficult” pieces where customers would sign up for that piece and then enough would be painted to complete the list. Being able to reserve LP pieces would be awesome!! (I would also gladly pay in advance just to be sure that I will get one). And I think it would give Melody a very good possibility to estimate how many she could/should do at least. 🙂
It´s relly difficult for me to get special pieces because mostly when they appear in the shop it´s the middle of the night here for me 🙁 And if there are only very few like with the grab bag Unis or this panda cat I have nearly no chance at all to get them.
It´s already waaaay better with the anouncement mails, but in this case the mail came so late that I did not catch it until the next morning.August 17, 2011 at 11:43 pm #853759Squeak squeak 🙂
August 18, 2011 at 9:24 am #853778In the past, people have suggested having a presale or reservation set up for “difficult” pieces where customers would sign up for that piece and then enough would be painted to complete the list. Would that work with this piece?
First of all, I did get one; so I am not writing this from that viewpoint. I have always thought this system of luck and who has the fastest checkout fingers is not fair to the majority of members. I have advocated for this before and was basically told that Windstone was not set up to do this on an advance-payment type of plan.
Okay, then why not have Susie keep a list of people who want this piece; and as they are painted, the next person on the list is given the chance to buy it. You know it will be coming and will have time to save; so payment would be required within two days. No “I didn’t check my email,” etc.; if you are signed up, you will be watching for it. If you don’t pay, the next person on the list is contacted, and you go to the bottom of the list. I can hear people objecting: “Two days? that’s not enough time.” How much notice do you get now? Three hours?
I can also hear Susie groaning about now. People tend to hit “Notify” indiscriminately just in case they might want something when it comes back; then when it does come back, they no longer want it. This would create a lot of extra work for Susie, and it also can cause pieces to be painted that are not sold. That is a money and time drain for Windstone.
How to address this aspect, to get people to really think about whether they want the piece enough to come through and pay for it? Possibly make this a case of if you sign up and then change your mind, you forfeit the opportunity not only to go to the bottom of the list for this piece but also to get on any other list of this type in the future.
We were always told there was no way for Windstone to give a choice of eye colors, but they are now doing it. If people keep requesting something long and loudly enough, Windstone will eventually listen and find a way to do it.
August 18, 2011 at 9:48 pm #853831They won’t be ready today. And there will only be 3 or 4. Then please allow Melody time to finish the little treasures she’s working on right now, breathe, and then to paint more.
August 18, 2011 at 10:05 pm #853833I have to work tomorrow 🙁
