Well guys,
Here is the damaged dragon that came from Watergazer, she repaired him and I repainted him.
He was originally a Peacock, I think…anyway he had been damaged and Watergazer repaired him, then sold him to me.
This guy is going to be a gift for a dear friend of mine.
Comments welcome.
Here he is: (Due to a rather unpleasant message from John, this image will no longer be available.)
I will ask if he objects to me sharing it with folks privately through PMs or something.

April 22, 2007 at 8:23 pm #565247I think he is beautiful! And, now I’m tempted to get a repaint myself!
April 22, 2007 at 8:58 pm #565248I’m hoping to find a few more damaged Windstones I can experiment with. It was a fun challenge to paint this guy. Brush painting one of these is tough, so many nooks and crannies. I wish I had my airbrush all set up, but I still don’t really know how to use it.
Guess I should figure it out one of these days.

April 23, 2007 at 1:00 am #565250OMGosh! That’s beautiful. Good job!
April 23, 2007 at 1:04 am #565251Beautiful, Kyrin. You certainly gave him a new life.
April 23, 2007 at 2:34 am #565252Thanks guys, had some friends visiting from out of state this weekend and one suggested the blue…so I tried it for looks, and he was right. It really brought out his eyes.
He also had the suggestion of outlining the leg scales, though I had been considering it anyway. But with the body being black, the front legs were kinda faded into the background until I did.
Not sure if you can see from the pic, but the chest scales have light gold bands going through them. And I made the horns and claws more of a bone color, since making them gold would have kinda faded them back, considering his base color and the shade of gold I have available.
This one took me days to do, I probably put in about 20 hours on this, but the results were worth it.
If my friend doesn’t like him, I figure I will just ask for him back. 😆 Somehow I don’t think my friend is going to take me up on that offer.
Anyway, I’m glad you guys like him. I am thinking of doing my little PYO dragon sitting here to match and then perhaps putting him up on eBay. What do you guys think, think he would do well?

..April 23, 2007 at 3:26 am #565253I think he’s lovely. I must admit he looked very close to black gold, but that could be my red-flecked monitor. The blue spots are prominent, though, so you should be okay.
April 23, 2007 at 12:40 pm #565254I like him alot 😀
April 23, 2007 at 4:44 pm #565255It is lovely. The new owner will probably be pleased.

Actually if you put them side by side, mine is very very different. Especially since mine is actually a copper color and not red, and there is very little yellow on him, whereas the WS Black Gold has lots of golds and yellows.
I thought about that when I started, but as the painting progressed, it stopped resembling anything factory pretty quick. I wasn’t after doing anything like theirs anyway. 🙂
I just wanted a black dragon that stood out.
