I’m not sure if all the Red Flame curlies were painted with a similar amount of purple, but I thought it would be worth asking. My Red Flame curlie (photos below) has a lot of that purple/pink color on his face, snout, and top of his wings. I don’t like this color and was hoping maybe others were painted with less (a lot less!) and if so, if someone was willing to do an even trade.
I was going to put him on Ebay, but thought I’d at least find out if some were produced with less, because other than the purple/pink, I <3 everything else about the color scheme.

They are similar, but the Red Flame (refered to as Russet before they went on Ebay) was the first curlie color released by Windstone. They have a lot more red (and less violet and gold) than the Violet Flame. There’s a comparison photo somewhere on the forum.

Are you confusing the name “Red Flame” with the production color, “Red Fire”? Red Flame and Red Fire are not the same color.April 8, 2008 at 12:18 am #688001Mrr, the two are definitely different. Here’s a pic of mine –>
They’ve also got different colored eyes and jewels. Yours looks about the same as mine, Lokie. Mine’s just under bad lighting conditions for a truest color. =) Oh, and that’s a VF from the second batch. The first was much closer to the Red Flame color. Almost exactly alike, from the pics I’ve seen…
April 8, 2008 at 1:35 am #688002Actually there are lots of differences between the Red Flame (a.k.a. Russet or Russet Flame) and the violet flame curls. Here’s the old comparision graphic I made (using the official photos) when the violet flames first came out.
Eye color is different and so is the jewel. The Violet Flames are also more orange than gold and have blue antiquing.
Here’s another graphic showing a VF1 from different angles.

This was the comparison photo I was thinking of, but they all do the trick.
I went through past posts for photos and it looks like most of the Red Flame Curlies have a lot of violet. I guess I’ll just sell this one on Ebay and wait until another color comes out that I like 🙁
