I’m sorry you have to sell DM. RL sucks sometimes.
Drogo, it’s a vicious cycle, isn’t it?? I would love to see a jade one myself…maybe I should add that to my wish list…hmmm
September 19, 2007 at 12:02 am #617648Hey how much do the Coiled peacock dragons with the little crystal ball run? I think there’s one in my area…
September 19, 2007 at 5:38 am #617649The coiled peacock males are pretty common. They were selling for $56 before retirement and can go for less or up to $100 now.

Would have been more ruff i reconised your name and didn’t bid as i know you had lots of curlies π I brought a few other Windstone pieces from the Lady in the UK it was nice i didn’t have to pay hge postage and customs for once 8)
September 19, 2007 at 7:27 pm #617654I have to admit, that if that were one of my MUST HAVE pieces, that before I found this site (again, thank you to MIPA for guiding me here), Id probably believe eBay was my salvation.
I’ll tell ya, a few months ago, I was close to being able to offer the same piece here. One that had never been displayed or out of its box except for inspection.
Get this- I call my southern FL store I had ALWAYS shopped at and directed ppl in person, to shop at. A new age and dead head store that carried lots of Windstones. Mostly where I got a lot of mine. Over my yrs living down there, they knew me on sight, my name and that I brought them a lot of business. I spent thousands in there and not just on Windstones (but mostly).
So I called them a while back to ask what “retired” Windstones they had in stock. The owner said she didnt know what was retired or not, and gave me a list of what she had sitting in the back. Among them she included a black griffin, black mother unicorn and emerald coiled mom with gold egg. I asked her for the total of these pieces and said Id like to buy them right now (and she knew who I was and remembered me as one of her best customers). I wasnt overly excited but of course, expressed interest as I wanted to pay immediately (which would have been good for her).
She then got all shady saying, “well, I dont know how much theyre worth, come to think of it,” (der, look at what you have them marked as or, let me tell you what a certain website (AC) has them as last selling). For someone who has spent so much money in her store over so many years, she got all shifty with me and wouldnt tell me any prices. I could hear the “ka-ching” noise going on in her head). She said she wasnt internet savvy but might have her friend put them on eBay. I was ticked. Cause here she has a buyer (me) on the phone willing to buy them now. I mean really- she is a retail store and some of the pieces (griffin and mother blk unicorn) were sitting out in glass display for years and no one buying… how I missed them I dont know. Maybe she meant yrs since Ive moved from there). Someone is coming to buy them from you NOW. A good person! Dont be all bijiggity with me!
She then went on to say I should NOT give out her name or store name to anyone online as she didnt want ppl calling her store for Windstones, or anything. They do sell some controversial stuff in there for, lets say, tobacco. But honestly, I think anyone calling about Windstones is interested in just that- Windstones. She was adamant about not wanting to be publicized. Nuts.
So- in the end, I couldnt get those pieces for you guys when at the time, I knew many of you wanted those pieces (heck, at the time I wanted the griffin). Had she cooperated, Id have gotten someone here a great price on the emerald coiled mama. Certainly not to the tune it is going on eBay right now. YOUCH!

π π π Nah- they were mostly behind glass but those that were out, smelled of incense.
And yes, money does change ppl. I was just hoping that it wouldnt have done that to someone who had such a good and loyal patron in me for so long, as well as sending ppl to her store in person too. Ya live ya learn; Im over it.
