Why is it that people don’t respond after getting their shipping quote? They are willing to pay lots of money for an item but when they find out the shipping quote even as low as $10…they dissapear, never to be heard from again.
They said they would tell me if they still want it depending on the shipping but they never get back to me.
I’ll send a message asking if they still want it..YES or NO. NOTHING! and I know they read the message, more then one message actualy.
WTF…I go out of my way to drive all the way to another town (over 80 miles there and back) to find out the shipping and this is how they thank me…by not responding? 😡Do all of yous have the same problem?
March 5, 2009 at 3:42 am #497726March 5, 2009 at 5:52 am #753348That’s a nuisance.
I can tell a buyer the shipping cost pretty accurately up front, so I’ve never had that problem, but I’m sorry that you did, BDW.March 5, 2009 at 5:54 am #753349That’s horrible! Since I’ve never sold anything on ebay, I haven’t run into that problem… Big Hugs to you BDW!!! {HUGS}

March 5, 2009 at 1:44 pm #753350That’s just rude. 🙁 I’m sorry you lost all that time (and gas) in the affair.

I don’t have a scale to weigh the packages. And since I’m not planing on selling much longer because of stuff like this happening I don’t see the point in spending close to $100 for a postal scale. If I was selling like 2huberts or emerald then it would be different.twindragonsmum wrote:That’s horrible! It wasn’t items on eBay since I don’t want to sell on ebay but they were being sold here on the forum.
I thought fellow members had more respect toward each other and would have the courtesy of getting back to you like they said they would after you did what they asked of you. :nea: I was wrong!Adaneth wrote:That’s just rude. 🙁 I’m sorry you lost all that time (and gas) in the affair.
Thanks Adaneth. It’s happening to often for my taste. :negative: Instaid of making money I’m spending it…not good.
March 5, 2009 at 3:57 pm #753352Yes, I have this happen all the time 🙁 Though I don’t sell on eBay anymore, it’s just my normal website sales.
I got a scale just for this reason. You don’t have to get a postal scale!! Just one that measures in small units such as oz or grams. I got mine for $18.00.

My art: featherdust.comMarch 5, 2009 at 3:58 pm #753353I just use the kitchen scale to weigh my boxes. I’ve never had to ship anything heavier than 3 kilos… 😳
March 5, 2009 at 4:03 pm #753354Thanks Jen and GB, maybe I’ll do that. 🙂
March 5, 2009 at 10:05 pm #753355I was going to say something about the scale, but the others beat me to it! For the lighter packages, I use the kitchen scale and for the heavier ones, the bathroom scale! That way, with the weight and measurements, you can get a quote online from Canada Post.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I gained so much weight that I broke my bathroom scale! 😳 8) 😆 😕
Beside it was not acurate enough. :nea:March 6, 2009 at 1:12 pm #753357Im sorry that happened. All I can say is that maybe life happened to them. I have gotten so distracted and so busy that I have forgotten transactions. I went to NTC and came back wondering why my bad cat candle lamp and gothic uni were in a box out in the carport. I also never got back to Kyrin about the gold dragon because of Soldier issues that came up right before I left for Alabama. It wasnt intentional, I just got sidetracked by other more pressing things. Im sure they are not meaning to be rude. They may just have a hard time saying No. Or they may feel guilty about all the time you wasted when they no longer have the funds to buy what they asked for. No telling. Im very sorry it happened. I know how much trouble it is to get a shipping quote. It takes time to box things up, get to the PO just to get a quote, and then know you’ll have to head back to the PO (or unpack the item if the buyer changed their mind) and do it all again later. I hope the potential buyer just tells you whats up… even if they just changed their mind.
March 6, 2009 at 4:18 pm #753358Thanks Ski.
All I have to say is that if they have time to read the two messages and post comments on the forum they should reply to my messages. They said they would let me know depending on the shipping, I knew there was a chance they might not buy it but a simple responce would have been appreciated. Common courtasy.March 6, 2009 at 7:04 pm #753359Blackdesertwind wrote:Thanks Ski.

Not too much to ask at all.
March 6, 2009 at 10:41 pm #753360Sucks that they don’t have common courtesy. Hopefully it isn’t me (which would mean someone’s hacked into my account and has starting promising to buy stuff >.<).
