Are the rainbow dragons that are in the store now (the scratcher, lap, old warrior) limited production? I’ve heard them refered to as lp somewhere but their description in the store doesn’t say that they are  . Just curious

Yep those pieces (along with the spectrals, royal hatchers and the curled dragon) are limited production as they were never originally produced as part of the regular production rainbow line.
May 24, 2009 at 3:29 am #765973I noticed the Curled Dragon in Rainbow is no longer in the store.

It was only in the store the day it was sold. There were issues with the store at the time so it was removed and hasn’t been added back.

They were called limited production because they were either the remaining stock we had on hand after we retired the production rainbow line, OR these were dragon molds that were never painted in rainbow before and then painted that way after the Rainbow production color was retired.
We used the name “limited production” for different things at different times. It is confusing. At first, it meant production pieces that we would produce in small batches and not necessarily have on hand all the time, like the Pegasus family, AND end-of-run pieces, such as the rainbows. Then it included the special colors, or special pieces that I painted in small batches.May 24, 2009 at 7:07 pm #765976pegasi1978 wrote:NicoleH wrote:Are the rainbow dragons that are in the store now (the scratcher, lap, old warrior) limited production? You may be right, I don’t remember which dragons in rainbow were production and retired, and which were painted after the production ones were retired.
May 25, 2009 at 12:58 am #765977Thanks for letting me know. I just was curious as to what they were really considered 🙂

Astral Castle’s Windstone Encyclopedia (which only lists the regular production pieces) has these pieces listed for rainbow:
Emperor Dragon (Rainbow)
Fledgling Dragon (Rainbow)
Hatching Dragon (Rainbow)
Male Dragon (Rainbow)
Mother Dragon (Rainbow)
Young Dragon (Rainbow) -
