Thank you! That clears up what I was worried about, because I wouldn’t want someone to lose their chance at all future raffles just because they agreed to give a free piece a good home!
Melody wrote:Yes, the person who receives the piece either by buying it, or getting it free from a winner is still eligible. For YOU to be eligible to enter a raffle again, you need to give it away, or donate the proceeds of selling it to charity.
Aww, thank you for the vote of confidence! 🙂 I hope we always live up to it! That’s one of the most awesome things about this forum — the way pretty much everyone seems to be an honorable sort. The few exceptions really are exceptions, not commonplace occurrences!
Melody wrote:I am making up these rules as I go, and there are lots of scenarios I can think of that I don’t have rules for, such as: you give the piece to your friend who sells it and gives you the money, or you give the piece to a family member who doesn’t particularly like Windstones, so they let you keep it with your collection, forever…
I don’t worry about stuff like that. I know that all of you are completely honorable.Interested in buying or trading for: GB Pebble Sitting Red Fox in dark grey, Lap Dragon Test Paints (Water Sprite, Glacial Pearl, Opulence, Pastel Rainbow, and many others - see my Classifieds ad), Blue Morpho OW, GB Pebble Loaf dragons in blue/aqua/teal, and Griffin Test Paints (Black Rainbow or Frosted Jade).
July 6, 2009 at 8:58 pm #773731Yes, I’m thinking about it. (Though I’m pretty sure she’s a February Lap, not New Year’s! …I never thought about it, but pink=valentine?) Most of my critters are probably going into storage while I try to find a job/internship, and I’d hate for such a pretty, unique critter to suffer that fate if there’s someone out there who would genuinely love and display her with pride instead.
Much as I love my “Heap O’ Laps” and would like to keep her (Yes, I have “dragon instincts” — once it’s mine, it’s MINE!! and I hate the thought of “losing” it), after all I went through getting her (heh!), there are probably people who would love her more than me.
Since she’s pink, I immediately thought of Ski, but can I gather that your post means you’re interested, too? 🙂
EDITED TO ADD: Whoops, we were both wrong! She’s the December 2008 raffle prize! *sheepish*

Or perhaps have a benefit raffle, where people could buy chances for 5.00 each for it, and the proceeds could go to your favorite charity? 😀
July 7, 2009 at 3:00 am #773737Thank you, Nightcrow, but I’m not interested. I was just curious to know if you were going to give her away. She was the New Year’s prize, not February, I think. It sounds like you have some interest with other members, though; maybe you could do a drawing!
July 7, 2009 at 4:03 am #773738Ohh, I’d be interested. 😳 I think any and all laps look good in my lap council.
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

July 7, 2009 at 4:43 pm #773742I’d be interested. THat was one of the few raffles I regretted not entering 😀
July 9, 2009 at 1:21 am #773743Oh my. She’s breathtaking! Laps are my favorite sculpt, and I love that feminine soft color. I don’t remember seeing her before, but I haven’t been here for all the raffles. I’ve entered a few but haven’t won any yet. I’ve got the top shelf in my display cabinet ‘on reserve’ for a special dragon. A raffle, or on the really unlikely chance that a prototype Old Warrior stays in my price range.
If you do decide to raffle the lovely lap, I’d definitely be interested.

There are pics (well, a link to pics) over in the Flea Market post now; and also the pic below your post is the right one (though she looks a little paler/gold-erthere than she does in the light of my living room).
