May 5, 2010 at 1:29 am #813748My deepest condolences, it is always a hard thing. My pets are my family, so I understand what a heartbreaking thing it is to loose a pet. Hugs!
May 5, 2010 at 2:11 am #813749My deepest sympathy on the loss of your pet that is a hard thing to have happen. I had an idiot vet do that to me once only I didn’t know the vet and had never met him. I had just gotten a dog from a breeder and she wanted me to take her to her vet to have her spayed so I did after having the dog for 2 weeks and letting her settle in with me. You love them even after such a short time. Anyway he called me at work that afternoon and all he bluntly said was “Mrs. B got some bad news about Hope she died” Wham I ws speechless then finally said “What happened?” the idiot said “I don’t know I finished the surgery and she just stopped breathing” like what’s your problem? I hae always felt he did something wrong because I never got a bill of any kind from him. He was a jerk
May 5, 2010 at 2:24 am #813750I’m sorry too for your loss of Titan. *hugs* I know nothing will replace him in your heart. What kind of dog was he? I have an Akita and my daughter has Great Danes. We worry about bloat as well.
May 6, 2010 at 12:56 am #813751Awww, man. 🙁 That just really sucks! I’m so sorry about Titan. It’s hard enough to lose them when you know it’s coming, but suddenly like that has got to be worse. 😥
Sending major hugs your way. {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}May 6, 2010 at 1:42 am #813752*Huge hugs*
I am sorry for your loss, it is always hard to lose a furry family member, no matter what. 🙁May 6, 2010 at 3:11 am #813753Sorry to hear about ur dog Titan 🙁 . It was hard for me too when i lost my kitties , still kinda is – one from old age, the other from cancer. Best of wishes in recovering from such a tragic loss.
May 6, 2010 at 4:16 pm #813754Titan was a good ole fashioned heinz 57 mutt. He was large, and looked like a brindle irish setter. He was probably 110 pounds, but he was lean, if that gives you any indication of how tall he was.
Thank you all for your condolences. The last few days have been tough. My husband is ready to start looking for another dog. That was his best buddy. I think it will do him some good. He wants a weimaraner, which we have talked about for years. But between Titan and our cats, and the fosters I’ve had in and out of our home over the years, we just didn’t feel like we had time for a puppy, especially a breed with the energy of a weimaraner. So maybe now is a good time to start looking into our options. This will be the first dog I’ve ever had that wasn’t a rescue, but my husband wants to purchase a field bred weimy that he can train to hunt with him. Although, if I had *MY* way, I’d get one that I could train to do therapy work.. but that’s just me.. hah.
I will always miss my big boy. He was good to me, and there are times in his life that I felt like he was the only friend I had. He taught me a lot as a dog owner. Including, but not limited to, patience and unwaivering trust. My daughter keeps asking where Titan is, but she’s too young to understand that he’s passed away. All she knows is that the dog that used to curl up on the floor with her to watch cartoons before bedtime isn’t there anymore. When she’s older, I’ll show her pictures and explain to her.
