Since this is about gardening…
Anyone know of some cat friendly plants that I could put on my South east facing balcony?
Not to hijack the thread, but I didn’t want to start a new one when it’s such a similar question. π
EDIT: this is post 999 π I’m inverted evil! π

Cat friendly, as in simply non-toxic to your cat, or ones FOR him to eat? π

Ones that won’t kill her if she decides a nibble is in order… I know a few that could be for her to eat π
Of course since this is the cat that tried to eat a cactus – I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried. π

I have a spider plant that routinely gets grazed on by my cats when they can reach it. No harm done to the cats so far.
You might want to consider planting some Kitty Grass specifically FOR her to nibble. All that is is Oat grass. Cosmic Cats is a brand that’s common in pet stores. it comes in a little dish of it’s own, or in a smal plastic bag. You can also grow catnip. It’s in the mint family and is relatively easy to grow. It can also be invasive, but if you’re going to put it in a pot on the patio, that shouldn’t be an issue. πJuly 19, 2008 at 5:00 am #723094tasgrs wrote:Dragon87,

Kimi actually has no reaction to catnip. Bought her a catnip toy, as well as tried to rub catnip on her cat tree to get her to scratch that (and not the computer chair) and she just ignored it.
My grandparents have spider plants. I may have to see on that one. I want some living green, darnit!
