Just for the record.. I painted all the first batch of VF fledges myself. Because they are true test paints, some have slightly more or less of the violet, and blue antique on them.
The second batch was painted by Olympia, which means they will be much more consistant. She paints them all to match one paint sample, rather than painting each one individually, and she can paint about a million times better than I can. (Of course, most of you can!)that is really cool to know! as if i did not love my fledge enough already! ^.^
August 6, 2007 at 7:31 am #605460Yes, as GB says, some of us got Blue-Violet Flame fledgies hehe I’m dissapointed in the blue so much, that when the next batch comes out, I’m going to snatch another one and hopefully sell or trade mine away. Bothers the poo out of me
It’s next to his non display side eye too. And the over-coat of gold paint looks a little like fingernail polish….sorry, I’m horrendously overly picky. Plus I’ve stared at him a LONG time…I even took him to work with me and he rode around in the cupholder of my car 😳 He was lonely at home, surrounded by other dragons lol
August 6, 2007 at 12:08 pm #605461Oh, that is SOOOOOooooo cool! Thank you Melody!! 😀

Mine looks fine, and not many artists would put forth the time and consideration to personally paint as many pieces as you do. Don’t you paint the flapcats and poads too? I like knowing I have a piece by you, and nobodies paint jobs are absolutely perfect all the time…except maybe Olympia and Nam’s….but they may be superhuman 😀 .
August 7, 2007 at 12:33 am #605468I guess I should apologize. I didn’t mean to sound like I was complaining. I really love my Violet Flame fledge. I was just noting how my fledge looked compared to what was being discussed. I really do like the way she looks.

Well, the blue antiqueing is weird, but that is how the Violet Flame Secret Keeper was done. She had splotches of metallic blue on her too, it was mostly between the scales though. I was copying the chaotic paint style of that one. I shouldn’t of had them ship out the really spotchy ones. They look too odd.
The paint sample Olympia is matching also has the blue antique in the areas between the scales, so they will still have that on them, in areas.August 7, 2007 at 6:09 pm #605472Sooooo when are the violet flame old warriors going to come out? 😉
