Miss Melody, I was wondering this after some discusion about the VF coloration:
My fledge has this very bright gold that most of the members have called a Mustered color. It is very dominant on my fledge it seems, his chest is a very solid orangy gold. Is this how the VF coloration is meant to look? and I was also wondering if the coloration VF is still being worked out as far as how the colors are painted on, experimenting with different gold tones for instance?

That is the color they are supposed to be… that sounds like a loaded question.. We always adjust the colors if we feel like it.
The flame color is made with a paint called Quinacridone gold. It is an extrememly fiery golden color.August 3, 2007 at 5:07 am #605432very neat. it certainly is an interesting color, I like my fledge. I’m really interested in seeing how the VF color will turn out farther down the line…thanx for the answer, that did quench my curiosity.
August 3, 2007 at 12:29 pm #605433Wow, Koishii, the mustard yellow is really dominant on your fledge. I wonder how it compares to other fledges.
August 3, 2007 at 3:18 pm #605434Mine’s about the same. 🙂
August 3, 2007 at 3:59 pm #605435yup, mine looks exactly the same too. very yellow chest, know what it makes me think of?! metallic fancy velveeta cheese! lol, i’m sorry but it does!! tee hee. he is still very pretty though, i just have him turned so i see slightly more of his lovely purple back.
August 3, 2007 at 6:35 pm #605436Hmm… if others are the same, then maybe it’s mine that’s off, since the only place that mustardy color is present is on its jaw & nose. Ah, the wonders of variation on hand-painted items… Now to find a store that will email me a picture before I buy online when other VFs come out…

can you post a picture? I’m curious.
August 3, 2007 at 6:40 pm #605438I think mine is the same as Koishii’s. I will have to take a closer look.

Will do shortly. I want to see if I can get a better picture first. I have one that I posted before, but the difference isn’t as clear as it is just looking at him.
August 3, 2007 at 8:41 pm #605440There is no yellow paint on these, they are painted with the same metallic gold all the dragons are, just with an added touch of Quinacrodone color also. That is what gives them the bright saffron color.

August 4, 2007 at 10:41 pm #605442I hope Wolfen doesn’t get after me for this, but I’m curious, so I’m going to ask before she does.
She got her VF fledge today, and hers looks like everybody else’s. Except that hers has several, at least half a dozen, spots of very sloppy blue antiquing. And it really shows. Do any other fledges have that? The blue is under the wongs, along the back, has a faint smudge down the chest… etc.August 5, 2007 at 12:51 am #605443
