Can a PYO be altered? For instance, can I carve a small area say out of the chest area and set a large stone? Can they be altered like adding more hair or something??
I was just thinking because I have this huge red fire opal that I think would look pretty cool of the chest of a dragon. Maybe sculpt a necklace/chain to suspend it from….
I was wondering if there is a clause not to alter the PTO’s anywhere.
I still don’t have any PYO’s but I’m hoping to soon.

I know there have been wings added to Ki-Rins, and lots of jewels on all kinds of sculpts. I put a jewel in the tail of all my Griffins, and Dragons. 😀 I’m not sure about the altering though. But I don’t see why not. *shrugs* 😕 Best to ask Melody in her topic section. 😉

No, you can add bling, but you can’t change the basic shape of the sculpture the way you do with your unicorns, I think.

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Modifying a Windstone piece, as I said in the post linked to above, is not okay. Gluing extra gems and things on there should be all right, but sculpting new things on there or, for example, cutting a PYO dragon’s wings off to sculpt your own on there, is not okay.

If you have a specific thing you want to do and are not sure, usually the only person that can answer this question definitively is John. Email him at john@windstoneeditions.com

Cutting wings off!! that’s be horrible and so wrong! Her sculpts are out of this world! I’d never do that kind of thing. I was thinking more of boreing a space to set a big gem. Not mutilate or hurt a piece. I ment like if I added a big gem to a unicorn, could I sculpt more mane to cover the area around the gem I’d set?
I’d never sell them they’d be for me 🙂 and when I die they’d go to my neice.

Well… sculpting the mane might be a problem. If you never post photos or sell it, no one would even know. But if you want to post photos, you should probably ask John first. 🙂

I can see how they wouldn’t want you doing that if you’re doing it to make it to sell. If you’re making it for yourself, you bought it you can do whatever you want with it. But I think there would be an issue if you tried to e-bay it or sell it here, etc.
