Q.) What is a quest?
A.) A quest is a promotion run on the Windstone Editions forum. Quests vary in format and may be judged contests, random draws, raffles, or other types of promotions. Typically quest winners will receive a Windstone sculpture test-painted by Melody Pena or production painter P.S. as a prize.
Q.) Who can participate?
A.) At a minimum, you must be a registered forum member to participate in all quests and Fuzzy Fridays. For some quests, additional restrictions related to age and geographical location may apply and will be noted on a quest by quest basis. In cases of additional restrictions – these restrictions will be related to promotional laws and requirements and are generally not the choice of Windstone Editions (for example, Quebec requires promotions to be offered in French as well as English and the Windstone Editions site is not currently enabled to support the French language). For submission of works to which copyrights apply (such as photos and videos) participants may also be requested to fill out a form authorizing Windstone Editions to post their work and confirming they are the original owners of such work and can grant usage rights.
Q.) Can I win more than one quest?
A.) Yes, you can win multiple quests – the only restriction at this time is that you may not win prizes worth more than $600 USD per calendar year. This is for tax purposes – we don’t want to have to file any special forms or to make you report the prizes as income. Prize value is calculated based on store retail value of the prize item.
Q.) Can I still participate in a raffle if I win a quest? And can I still do quests if I’ve won a raffle?
A.) Quests and Raffles are completely separate. Winning a raffle does not mean you cannot win a quest and winning a quest does not disqualify you for raffles. The raffle prizes also do not count against your $600/year prize maximum for quests. Raffles are gifts from Melody to the community and are operated completely separately.
Q.) Can I sell/trade/give away my quest prize and still participate in other quests?
A.) At this time, there are no restrictions on what a participant does with their prizes. They can be sold, traded, or gifted as if they were an item purchased from eBay or the store.
Q.) How do I enter a quest?
A.) Each quest will have separate entry rules. Please read the rules CAREFULLY to make sure you are entering correctly. Entries that do not follow the correct format will be disqualified. Some things to check are: email subject line, inclusion of your forum name, and proper formatting of any files submitted.
