If you have received some of the PYO Wolves that were dipped in a brownish wash (if you have any that are not plain white), beware if you paint them a light color because the wash may bleed through and show as green or yellow stains on your finished paint job (it might take a few days to appear). If you have already painted any in a light color and are experiencing this bleed through, WE APOLOGIZE, and will replace those PYO Wolves with some fresh ones that have not been dipped in the brownish wash.
We began dipping pieces in the brownish wash to make flaws easier to see, not realizing that it was possible for the color to bleed through the paint painted over it. We are not going to do this any more! Please contact us – email me, please, no “PM”s as I do not always see them. Thanks. susie@windstoneeditions.com

I just got one like this from a commission I painted white yesterday x.x
I have another I just bought from a forum member I haven’t touched yet, but I am pretty sure it was described to me as being like this. Crap… they are supposed to both be white wolves x.x I guess not anymore

We had an ebay piece that had a rather larger amount of the tint on it that did bleed through the white which was painted over it. It may depend upon what kind of paint you put over the tint (it may only bleed through some kinds). Please watch your wolf and we well replace him (as soon as we have more wolves) if he shows signs of bleeding through.
May 7, 2012 at 11:41 pm #879999Do we know how long it will take before I know he won’t show signs of bleed through?
They are both supposed to be white wolves. One I can paint different I suppose because it’s not a commission, just a personal project (Kiba from wolf’s Rain to match the rest of my Wolfs Rain set, I can always buy a replacement I guess and just paint this one differently) but one is a commission for Amaterasu from Okami and he’s most definately a snow white wolf. >_< I don't want to do it and then find out 6 months later he changed color. That's all I'm worried about because it's for someone else.

May 8, 2012 at 12:53 am #880006Kaytana? Was the one you sent me dipped? I haven’t taken a look at it yet.

May 8, 2012 at 6:57 pm #880056Only the PYO wolves should be affected.
The two ebay pieces that were affected both showed yellow stains 3 or 4 days after having their first layer of paint put on.
The two ebay pieces that were effected had both been dipped in a wash that was not well mixed. This may have contributed to the problem. A piece that has been dipped in an undermixed wash will have a noticeably greenish tint, and may have bright green stains instead of just brown. If you have a piece like this, it should definitively not be painted a light color.
If you have a finished PYO that still looks fine a week after being painted, then it should be fine.
May 13, 2012 at 9:36 pm #880395Well, it’s been a few days and the paint isn’t changing color yet, hopefully he is fine but I’m gonna give him a few more days just to be sure since it’s white paint. There didn’t seem to be “alot” on him I suppose, but I don’t know what one with a heavy wash looks like.
