I like that Windstone is putting a lot of emphasis on the PYOs (and not just because of price or the fact that I enjoy painting them, but that, too)! I remember reading in multiple posts that it actually hurts Windstone (sales wise?) to have too many production pieces available at one time (Melody or Nambroth can maybe help explain why, or am I just dreaming what I read?).

So, as it appears to me with this information, the PYO line helps produce new sculpts. It gives collectors an opportunity to have sculpts that might never have normally been produced because there wouldn’t have been a strong market for them as production pieces. And, it lets future sculpts that forum members suggest get produced that might not have been done otherwise because the addition of these sculpts would expand Windstone’s production line to a level that might hurt business.

So, my vote goes for Melody to sculpt what she chooses (and, probably, what we beg her for ), and if the piece has a possible flourishing future in the production line- great. If not, the PYO artists would love the chance to paint it. I know I will.

      That is a good point.
