ya im late too! ski!! OMG i love her. she realy does look like you could reach out and pet her. she reminds my of one of those Serendipity pegases. you should do a bunch of them… maybe the whole fambly of unicorns in natural colors.
December 29, 2006 at 8:23 am #520139She was just for fun cuz she was dirty. I did feel silly for doing it when I was done, but it was fun and I like the way it came out. If I ever get any more for cheap, I may try it. I have PYOs though…so maybe not! Glad everyone likes her! She got mailed to her new home yesterday. Hopefully her new owner is pleasantly surprised. She doesn’t know I sent it and im not gonna tell her.
December 29, 2006 at 3:25 pm #520140I’m late to this thread too, ski, but she is beautiful. Palomino was always my favorite horse color.
December 29, 2006 at 4:14 pm #520141Thank you! Palomino seems to be a popular horse! I fell in love with them after I saw a palomino win a reining competition even after his bridle broke and the bit fell out of his mouth.
December 29, 2006 at 4:20 pm #520142Was that in Germany? My former coach used to sell a lot of QH in Germany. I imagine he still does, I just haven’t been in touch with him in a few years. I remember him telling us (his students) that of all the european countries, Germany was the one where reining was getting really popular. He thought that if it ever made it to the Olympics, there would be strong competitors there. It seems Germans don’t mind spending a lot of money on good horses!
December 29, 2006 at 4:23 pm #520143No, it was in the states and the NFR, I believe. It was a while back. Im trying to find an article on it on line. He was on the cover of a horse magazine and everything. I was about 15…maybe?? I remember watching it on tv, but I have a horrible time remembering when things happen 😕

Definitely! The German dressage horses/riders seem to consistently beat out everyone else at the Olympics. I’m surprised that Germany is getting into reining too…I’d always thought that people in the US were into that…
December 29, 2006 at 4:29 pm #520145I think its cuz these German horses are HUGE!

That’s really impressive. That’s definitely the ultimate test of the horse’s training (and the rider’s horsemanship!).

Aren’t they though? It seems like Dutch warmbloods are really popular in Germany…what other breeds do you see over there?
December 29, 2006 at 4:31 pm #520148I still get all giddy when I think about it! It was sooo awesome to watch!
December 29, 2006 at 5:10 pm #520149Did you ever see Rugged Lark live? He always used to do a bridle-less routine in shows… In fact, I think he did one for one of the Olympics, I don’t remember which…

Oh, I dont know the breeds. The Polizei ride them around and I see the random horseback rider every now and then, but every single horse I see seems to be like, 17 hands. They are just tall.

No I have never seen him. That would def be something I would be interested in though! Im just a little nervous to get out and about sometimes. I see advertisements for circuses all the time, but never go. If I could buy tickets in person, I might, but trying to communicate in another language without being able to gesture ust scares me!!
