PYO Unicorn Question

I’m starting my first PYO unicorn today and I am all ready to go, but have a question first. Can you put masking fluid onto the horn? Or will the fluid damage the gold?

I’ve heard of folks putting the masking fluid on it. I haven’t tried that myself, but I have used masking tape on the horn with no problems.

Masking fluid and tape both work, I’ve used the liquid, but only cause I didn’t have any tape. I wouldn’t bother doing the whole horn unless you are airbrushing, when I am just painting with brushes I just covered the inch at the bottom, so I could get aggressive with the brush on the forelock areas.

For sealing, I just stuck some Press’N’Seal and stuck it over it in a kinda cone, so I didn’t have to deal with taking a bunch of latex off, it’s enough of a pain taking it off the bottom of the horn without having to strip the whole thing. That’s the only downside.

I kinda wish the PYOs would come with their eyes and horns unattached.
