Hi guys,
It’s been a while since I have visited the forum, other than a quickie pop-in. Long story short: We moved, I had surgery, We’re remodeling. It’s been crazy the last couple of months. I still have my PYO that I wanted to paint for my self (as soon as we get a place set up for paint slathering!). The last that I knew, people were having a hard time selling the PYO on Ebay and being able to make anything on them. I was just wondering if that has gotten any better since I haven’t been around much for the last couple of months. I thought that I may want to try that avenue (Once I see how mine actually turn out, LOL!) Also, has anyone tried painting and selling any other type of figurines? I had wondered if you could get into painting figurines and make any type of decent living that way. I have only sold on Ebay, but have any of you tried other avenues, and if so, how have you liked it. Ebay’s fee’s just keep climbing, and climbing… I am trying to clean the house today after our latest sheetrocking venture, but I promise that I will check back later today to see the posts. Thanks for any input. I appreciate them, and definitely hope to be able to be around a little more now. LOL! 😉July 25, 2007 at 2:29 pm #603213Well, if you are really good, the market is ok. Kioshi has been doing pretty well! 😆 I just sole a PYO for $82 that I had bought for $125 a while back, so I dont think the market is great. It is true… those paypal fees, Ebay fees, and shiping costs just keep climbing. I really dont think you can make a living off painting things like that and selling on Ebay, but you may be able to get some profit. Its hard to say.
July 25, 2007 at 4:48 pm #603214Welcome back, belladonna. Like Ski said, the market has gotten pickier. Koishii’s work sells fabulously, and asinnamon and purplecat do well too. But that’s about where it ends, unfortunately. I think because Windstone has so much out directly, and there’s so much new stuff vying for attention.
July 25, 2007 at 6:44 pm #603215Thanks for letting me know what you guys think. I knew that I had not noticed as many on Ebay, but just had not taken the opportunity to ask anyone about it. I had saw all of the ones that you mentioned on Ebay, and how good they seemed to be doing. It’s not a big deal for me, since technically I would have to complete my own before trying to paint for anyone else. LOL! Does anyone know when they plan to release the secret keeper PYO? I’m dying to get one of those, but not for the price of the current production ones. Whew! Oh well…Thanks again for answering.
July 25, 2007 at 6:47 pm #603216The keeper PYO is not ready yet, though it is coming along. They (as far as I know) have not decided if it is gonna be a PYO or regular production yet. 🙁
