That is an amazing idea, and an exciting prospect! Now we all need to mail Melody an extra five minutes from our day, so she has the time to sculpt again! 🙂

The only problem I could see with that is: how does one make a container that will accept the ashes of a 6lb terrier OR a 140lb mastiff?? 😉

My art: featherdust.comFebruary 11, 2008 at 10:42 pm #663785😯 😯 😯 yeah….then there’s the issue of a creature that would work just as well for a chihuahua as a golden retriever…at least with cats there’s not quite as much body type variation.

Would this be the one?
February 12, 2008 at 12:32 am #663787*sad that my dogs don’t get memorials or urns*
February 12, 2008 at 12:35 am #663788*pats shoulder* Dogs are just hard sculpt subjects sometimes….although I agree the idea is super cool.
February 12, 2008 at 1:49 am #663789With well over 300 breeds world wide and the countless mutts, there is just way to much variety to make them, IMO. BUT I want the special urns to fit under the PYO wolves since I did them to look like my two dogs.
Tonka:
Ruffian:
I also did my parents Shiba Bear, although I am unsure they will cremate him:
February 12, 2008 at 1:53 am #663790Wow ruffian! The wolves are gorgeous! The dogs are beautiful, too. 😀
February 12, 2008 at 1:54 am #663791Beautiful work Ruffian.
I like them all!February 12, 2008 at 2:10 am #663792I am not pleased with how Ruffian turned out and think I am going to buy another wolf and re-do hers, the other 2 I really like, but Tonkas is my favorite.
February 12, 2008 at 3:02 am #663793Oh, I like the Ruffian one. He is very striking!
February 12, 2008 at 4:30 am #663794Aww thanks everyone, my plan for ruffian and tonkas is to get wooden box type urns and have the windstone mounted on top somehow.
February 12, 2008 at 1:04 pm #663795I have a PYO done as my dog also. Alf ( my kids stuck him with that 🙄 ) short for Alpha. He was painted by Dragonscavern from this forum. I am not that talented 😆 We had his sister as well but sadly she got out when she was only 6 months old and was hit by a car.

There is a pic of it in my gallery somewhere.. I want to do a sculpture of each type of cat. Fat and round, thin and long, fluffy, tailless etc. This is my next project. I even would like to sculpt them with a chamber (or perhaps provide a separate receptacle that the sculpture could sit on)large enough to house ashes of a deceased cat.
That receptacle idea is wonderful.
I would love these. I might (maybe) even have to part with a Dragon or two to get these. Although I think I would prefer the option of getting with or without a receptacle better. 1) I have never cremated any of my pets and 2) I would worry that a “hollow” piece would be more prone to breaking.
