That’s wonderful, I’m so glad for you guys!!!!
September 23, 2007 at 11:56 am #618169They had to give him a unit of blood yesterday because his blood pressure was so low. He kept going into this rapid heart rate on and off all night so he didn’t get any sleep. When he tried to get up and walk his blood pressure was too low and all the color would drain out of his face so we wouldn’t let him do it. He was mad because he really wanted to walk. I didn’t spend the night with him last night (for once) since that stupid hospital chair they give you is so horribly painful to sleep in. I started getting cramps from it so I told him since he was doing fine I was gonna sleep at home. I didn’t sleep very well at home since I haven’t been in my own bed for a week. I’m going to spend all day cleaning the house incase they send him home next week then I’m going back to the hospital again.
September 23, 2007 at 2:08 pm #618170I really hope he gets to go home next week. These little setbacks can be so disheartening.
September 23, 2007 at 2:54 pm #618171I hope he gets to go home, too. Let us know! Even the option is good news.
September 23, 2007 at 8:31 pm #618172I spent all day cleaning the house so when he comes home it will be spotless. My mother-in-law came over to help me. My mom wanted to help but all she does is make rude comments every time she is over my house so I don’t let her come over anymore. I talked to Danny and he said they took out his last chest tube. When they did it started to get air in his lung so they had to stitch him up. He was in a bit of pain from the chest tube so they gave him some pain meds and he was very out of it when I talked to him. I’m going to go up and spend the night tonight. I have to come back home in the morning to take the cat to the vet then I’ll go back to the hospital again.
September 23, 2007 at 9:05 pm #618173Try to get some rest in there for you and the little one. Hope everything goes well and Danny gets to come home soon. *hugs*
September 23, 2007 at 11:21 pm #618174It sounds like he is getting a little better every day! That’s awesome news! I bet he is glad to get the chest tube out.
Good luck at the vet’s. Just remember, if you do decide to have him declawed it doesn’t make you a horrible person or a horrible pet owner. Just think how unhappy he would be if he couldn’t interact with Danny!
September 24, 2007 at 12:06 am #618175Things are finally looking up for you, and I’m glad. I’ll echo ddvm on the kitty vet visit.
Good luck!
September 24, 2007 at 12:37 am #618176I just hope it doesn’t come to having him declawed. I swore I would never do that to a cat and just thinking of having to do it is killing me. At least kitty was happy to have me home all day long. He actually didn’t have a fit when I left the house tonight to go to the hospital. I think I’m going to take him to petsmart tomorrow and pick him out a nice new cat toy for being such a trooper thru all this.
September 24, 2007 at 12:42 am #618177Don’t beat yourself up about it, if it comes to that decision, I’m sure that Danny will be happier that he can interact with his kitty.
September 25, 2007 at 2:15 pm #618178Hubby walked 3 laps yesterday and only had to take two breaks. The surgeon says he thinks he might go home this week but I don’t think he will go home till next week at the earliest. His potasium levels are still messed up and they have to fix it before he can go home. They are going to have an ent look in his nose since they think its dripping and causing some congestion in his chest.
September 25, 2007 at 10:22 pm #618179That sounds great! He must be excited at the thought of going home. Are you going to be able to get time off work?
September 26, 2007 at 1:46 am #618180Good luck and best wishes, please know we are all thinking about you!!!!
September 26, 2007 at 2:23 am #618181I’m not posting much anymore but GOOD LUCK
September 26, 2007 at 9:45 pm #618182Oh DM why won’t you be posting anymore?
Danny had his one month broncoscopy today. They said everything looks find and they did a small biopsy to check for rejection. So far they said they don’t see any signs of it /yay. The doctor said so long as everything keeps going well he will come home on Monday. They are still trying to get his blood sugars in check but he has cystic fibrosis related diabetes and the diabetic nurses they have working on him have no clue what they are doing. I’m trying to put a bug in the cf teams ear about going down and helping them out. I’ve told them how to deal with his blood sugars but they don’t seem to want to listen. They keep giving him long acting insulin which drops his blood sugar too low. I finally told the nurses not to give it to him which of course made them mad but they will get over it.
