http://dragcave.ath.cx/user/36343You’re very welcome!! I should have some more stuffs here in the next week. I’ll be pouring some hippocampus’s too. π
March 6, 2008 at 8:09 am #664335Do you keep the pieces already released more or less in stock, purplecat? I still want to get a chirpmunk and a dragonsnail or tw, but I can’t yet.
March 6, 2008 at 2:01 pm #664336Well, I do them in batches, so it’s really hit and miss. I will definately be doing more chirpmunks, and dragonsnails, in varying colors. If there’s something I’ve already done that you definately want to buy, just give me a list of what you were wanting and I’ll be sure to include them in my next batch. π I do plan on having at least a piece or two around of colors that I’ve already done, but that will probably be easier when I’ve got more done. π π
March 6, 2008 at 4:26 pm #664337I got my chirpmunk today, and I love him! He’s so cute.
March 6, 2008 at 4:45 pm #664338March 6, 2008 at 4:56 pm #664339I’m out right now, but should have some more in…oh…about a week at most I’d say. π
March 6, 2008 at 6:41 pm #664340Wow! I need to check out the Art Discussion thread more often. Didn’t notice this till now!
Those are some very cool looking things you’ve made purplecat! π What are they made of? You mentioned that you pour them. I really like the blue and sandstone dragons, but am curious to see what the seafoam ones look like.
Will you be doing more cloudfish too? Maybe one with blue or seafoam colors?
March 6, 2008 at 6:44 pm #664341The light spotted cloudfish is actually still available, but I’m planning to try a couple new colors soon. I’m wanting one in a stormy silver color, and maybe a pearly white one….I dunno…I think one in black might be neat…I’m still tossing ideas around. For the most part I’ll probably stick with fishy colors on these. I’m the most excited about my hippocampus, I may strangle chris if he doesnt help me with a pour soon! π π I have a couple of the pink moonshell snaildragons left too, along with a sandstone conch one too. π
Oh, they are a very dense poured plaster similar to what windstone uses. π
March 6, 2008 at 6:52 pm #664342Okay, so these all come out of molds… rather than each being hand crafted? I was just curious if they varied in appearance and size.
March 6, 2008 at 7:55 pm #664343No, I do the original sculpture, then make castings of it. If you get a moonshell snaildragon, in pink, and then get another in sandstone, they are the same sculpt, just different colors. π
March 6, 2008 at 8:31 pm #664344Oh yes, I knew you at least did the original… I just didn’t know if every single one you made was hand crafted, or from the mold you created. Either way, very cool! π They are all very cute. I look forward to seeing some in seafoam.
March 7, 2008 at 2:40 am #664345Lol….It took me FOREVER to learn the molding process…or at least it felt like it, even with Melody’s help. π I’m such an impatient person, and casting/moldmaking is a very meticulous process to learn and get right…my pieces still arent perfect castings, but getting closer every time. π
