I really like him! You should finish and produce him!
January 27, 2009 at 6:34 am #664842He does look very cute. 🙂
January 27, 2009 at 6:45 am #664843I think that it looks very nice! I likes it! 😉
January 27, 2009 at 2:38 pm #664844🙂 Here’s a more current shot…I had some insomnia last night as well, and worked alot on the back side of her detailing. If this girl is produced…it would be a resin reproduction…as her dorsal crest is much too delicate for a plaster casting, but resin would be quite sturdy (and I wouldnt have to do it!). I actually already have a resin caster who likes my work..and I’ve examined their castings in person. They do beautiful and quality work. She would end up being my debut to resin cast dragons. Soooooo, I’m gonna keep right on trucking with her detailing, and hope she gets enough interest that I can afford to produce her in resin. I would…once the sculpt is complete…most likely test the waters by putting up a pre order interest list or poll.
January 27, 2009 at 3:24 pm #664845That’s neat! Good luck with the caster. 😀
January 27, 2009 at 3:32 pm #664846That would be neat to see in resin! 😀
How does that work with painting? Would you get back a batch of blanks and paint them yourself, or does it work differently?
January 27, 2009 at 4:11 pm #664847it works the same…I’d receive back the blank castings, which I could then paint however I like. Resin is heavy, dense and sturdy stuff, and can be painted much the same as the plaster, but resin doesnt absorb paint, so the painter has to be cautious about applying too much. It airbrushes beautifully, as I’ve painted resin horses before, and as a sculptor it gives me more freedom with what I can do. 🙂
January 27, 2009 at 9:46 pm #664848Oh that would be so cool if we could paint her ourselves… 😉 I hope it works out… 🙂

January 29, 2009 at 2:35 am #664849um…..no. I would be painting the castings and selling them. At this point, I really have no plans to do any sort of paint your own pieces. That particular feature is something that is unique to windstone…and I really dont want to tread on toes. So, my caster would be sending me the blank resin castings…rather than me casting everything myself, which I would then paint, and sell like normal. 🙂 sorry for the confusion.
January 29, 2009 at 5:47 am #664850Ohh I see…sorry about that 😳 I still think she gorgeous…and she’ll be stunning once you paint her… 🙂

January 30, 2009 at 2:33 pm #664851I am thinking of doing a tiger color for PC’s Tatzle Cat. something simaler to the fire tiger and magpie tiger. but in order to be able to paint one,I need to know if any one would be willing to buy a tatzle cat painted like that, since they cost more to cast and currently there are no spare castings of them to play with.
I will only be able to try painting this while I am out here at pc’s since shipping blank ones to me once i return to cali will be a pita for shipping cost.
January 30, 2009 at 3:41 pm #664852A tiger color sounds interesting. What would be the cost?
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

I love it. Especially the dorsal crest. Makes me think of a sea serpent. I can just see this one towering over a Viking dragon ship. I want one of these!
January 30, 2009 at 8:57 pm #664854thank you! I have started her midsection, and have a pic up in my blog entry, here’s a link http://purpletabby.livejournal.com/150217.html She’s got a loooong way to go yet, I intend on giving her very fine detailing on the scales yet. The tail will wrap up and touch the midsection as well, and she’ll be one piece when done.

That sounds like a neat idea. I have a tatzel and I love him! However, I couldn’t afford to get another one any time soon 🙁
