Yeah, the only reason I figures it could work is because its a ‘light’ lavander color. It seemed to work for the Rubies, having the same eye and body color that is 😉 . Not a big fan of the Rubies personally, but a purple dragon done like that – heck yeah 😀 !
March 7, 2009 at 3:14 am #753149I worked on an “Amethyst” color today. Ill try to photo it on Monday and see what you think.

Can’t wait to see it!
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

ME TOO 😀 !!
March 7, 2009 at 2:24 pm #753152Yay! (The waiting might make my weekend feel longer, too! 😉 )
March 7, 2009 at 11:41 pm #753153I suppose I’m a little late to the party, but whenever I think of vibrant shades of purple, I think of charoite (coincidentally, I’ve always wanted to see this color scheme on a dragon):

March 8, 2009 at 12:21 am #753154A charoite dragon would be absolutely stunning!

Agreed! That would look nice!
March 8, 2009 at 6:53 pm #753156I love the idea of the purple shades in a dragon, but it is mostly a “cool” color and I think it looks better with other “cool” colors, like blues and greens and aquas and silver. The yellow in that stone doesn’t do anything for the purples, IMO, partly because it is a “warm” color (maybe I just don’t like the shade) but it would probably go with the other “warm” colors like orange, reds, lemon yellow, etc. The rainbows have them all mixed up but that’s the whole theme, not just one color. I like the idea of lavender eyes in a darker lavender if that’s possible or violet eyes. That would be awesome!!
March 8, 2009 at 7:03 pm #753157Heh. This is amusing to me because there are people on both sides of this color theory fence. 😀 Purple and yellow are complimentary colors…it’s funny how some people like them together, and others don’t!
Er, if you don’t know what I mean, complimentary colors are opposites on the color wheel. Here’s what wiki says about it :
“Some theorists and artists believe juxtapositions of complementary colors are said to produce a strong contrast or tension, because they annihilate each other when mixed; others believe the juxtapositions of complementary colors produce harmonious color interactions. Colors next to each other on the color wheel are called analogous colors. They tend to produce a single-hued or a dominant color experience.”
Or it could just be that some of you guys like eyes that pop on your Windstones, and others like eyes that blend into the sculpt a bit more. =) I agree with whoever it was that said Melody would choose the best look, whatever the case. e.e
March 9, 2009 at 5:09 am #753158I don’t mind the straw eyes, but there are enough dragons with light blue and straw eyes already it seems. Grey sounds nice, bright yellow sounds good, heck even that weird light green would perk my ears. But, Melody will have final say and she will pick something that looks stylish and good. 🙂

I third this. Using black and the tannish color as accents, that dragon would look gorgeous.
Sure would make for a lovely Spectral…March 9, 2009 at 8:50 pm #753160‘Tis Monday…
