I love the puppies, Aussies are one of my favorite breeds, expecially bi-black, love bi-black Shelties as well.

Keschete-Merle is an incomplete dominant gene and can cause alot of problems. To get merle puppies one parent has to be merle, but you never breed 2 merle dogs together. Merle is a dilution of a solid color, a red merle aussie would be red or liver without the merle gene, and a blue merle aussie would be black without the merle gene. Breeding 2 merles together dilutes the gene to far and causes lethal whites, these dogs are often blind and deaf, sometimes born without eyes. BYB often do this not knowing the issues that arrise. The same things happen in Collies, Daschunds, Shelties and anyother breed that merle is present. Similar problems happen when breeding Boxers, you should not breed two flashys together, ones with white markings, and white boxers are a huge no no as well.

Here’s another update, sorry it’s been SO long since I’ve been able to come on! They’re 7 weeks old now, and yesterday we went to the breeders for her to make her picks. She chose Chili (the red merle girl) and Starlight AKA Frankie Blue Eye (the darker blue girl with the big spot on her shoulder). Fudge was actually the one she thought puzzled out best, but she didn’t want another boy. For the time being, she’s keeping her 2. Now the others have to get ready to go. 🙁 Already miss Chili and my Frankie girl. At least Oreo (the black mismark girl with the white eye) is probably going to my husband’s son, so I get liberal visitation rights. And, the breeder has asked me to move up to her place and help her with the dogs, basically take over the day to day, and the dogs would be signed over to me. 😯 Not sure about the sudden move, but my husband and I were thinking anyhow of moving up that way, and it’s a chance at a better income and lifestyle than what I now have. Eek!

Anyhow here are some lousy puppy pics. Some didn’t care for my inexperienced attempts to stack them!

Starlight, she was 5 weeks in the photo with my daughter but I didn’t have a better pic of her and now she’s gone.

Beauty didn’t quite pass muster as a potential show dog, but she’s still ‘hey look at me’ and a bold happy girl. Almost fell off the table though so DIDN’T care for the stacking attempt.

Fudge is a soft sweet boy so probably would be happiest just as someone’s (active) snugglebuddy rather that a show dog, maybe it’s best she didn’t want a boy. He thought the table scary.

Oreo should be going this weekend, but I get to visit her all the time yay! She’s the personality of the bunch (also the smallest she will definitely be mini in size). Pics with the baby gate and terrazzo floor were taken at the breeders, and they DIDN’T think that was a fun way to spend the day.

Dennis I think will be a really fun dog for someone looking for a dog to do Agility or another activity with. He’s a happy boy. It’s the Breyer (model) Aussie!

Finally Sparkles. She’s a sweet girl and will be a love and will make someone happy! (maybe the ones who don’t pass show muster are the lucky ones to end up as special family companions?)

They are all really cute, but I think Beauty is my favorite. She’s named well.
