I love it, mipa! He’s so unique and nicely done. The only thing that bugs me a little is the lack of blending on the beak, from dark to light. But maybe that’s intentional?
February 3, 2007 at 9:04 pm #535566It’s beautiful I considered doing something similar with a Ki-Rin of mine. I wanted to put cherry blossoms on the scales, I’m still to afraid I’d ruin it though =)

February 4, 2007 at 12:59 am #535569Hi Mipa, Welcome.
I really like both your dragon and griffin. The idea of a scene on one side is unusual and lovely. I like the story and/or peom for each baby also. The poem for the dragon was lovely.
My only problem is that on my computer I am unable to read the description or poem. The color of the text blends too well with the background. I’ll try again at work Mon. and see if there is any difference.
February 4, 2007 at 1:45 am #535570If you have trouble reading because of text color, very often you can drag your mouse over all of it to highlight it, and then it becomes quite readable.
February 4, 2007 at 2:09 am #535571Cool!! I’ve been waiting for someone to do one like this…they do model horses like this called “decorators.” I knew there would be a decorator PYO eventually! Awesome, Mipa! And I for one like it with each side different, the way it is now… And I think the mountain effect comes through very well.
Drag0n – If you want incentive for that cherry blossom kirin, I’ll commission it from you, because that sounds super sweet to me…I love sakura blossoms…

-J R R TolkienFebruary 4, 2007 at 6:59 am #535572Very cool! I have been thinking of how to do a scene on the sculptures. Kind of like the “Trail of the Painted Ponies”. But I couldn’t figure out how to do it. You did a great job and I’m sure he’ll fetch a great price!
February 4, 2007 at 9:05 am #535573Very neat idea! I think is looks lovely.
February 4, 2007 at 8:03 pm #535574And it’s doing quite well on E-Bay as of now…
February 4, 2007 at 11:28 pm #535575It’s a beautiful griffin and a unique idea! I would love to see some done in desert sandstone and/or desert sunset colors.

I won him! *Snoopy dance* I was actually at work, remembered he was ending, put a bid in planning to check around the ending time, got crazy and checked way after it ended only to find out my bid was enough! *more Snoopy dance* Can’t wait to see him, Mipa. 😀
