With all the discussion about the new possible production color replacing Ruby, the Fire and Ice OW, the Bronze and Silver Orientals, and Nams last two emperors (among other pieces), I’ve wondered about members’ preferences for warm or cool colors.
***Edited to add: Warm Colors usually comprise of: Yellow, Orange, Red, Brown, and Gold. Cool Colors usually comprised of: Blue, Green, Violet. As well as neutral or cool based Silvers and Grays (grays can be warm based too).***
I know it’s not as simple, and not trying to imply, that by voting one way or another it means that a member who, for instance, votes for liking warm colors thinks that all cool color schemes are ugly and all warm color schemes are beautiful. Or that a color scheme can’t contain both and be lovely. I was just wondering if people tend to gravitate more towards one or the other, as I know I do.
I find the blue/green/purple/grey/silver color schemes the least appealing to myself. Not just in Windstones, but my enviroment, as I have very little, if no, cool colors in my bedroom or living room.
But I do like wearing blue jeans! 😆
Anyone else have a strong preference for one or the other?

November 5, 2007 at 12:20 am #634127I’m not sure what colors are considered “warm” or “cool.”
What category would brown, white, and gold fall under? Would the old green be considered “cool”?
November 5, 2007 at 12:40 am #634128For me, it has to do with the actual color scheme, not with cool or warm colors.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.

Brown is warm, as is gold. White can be cold or warm, depending (an ivory white would be warm, while a stark titanium white would be considered more cold by most). Green is cool.

My art: featherdust.comNovember 5, 2007 at 1:00 am #634130OK, I see. I like the old version of green, but I generally prefer brown color schemes…so I like warm colors most of the time.
But that’s only for my Windstones — blue is actually my favorite color. 🙂 On the other hand, I like all of my walls to be white…so I guess what color I like depends on the object.
November 5, 2007 at 3:33 am #634131I guess I go for earth tones, although there are times when I prefer a more fiery color combination. For example, I love my VF fledgling. 🙂
November 5, 2007 at 3:42 am #634132Ah, yes, I should have posted (for anyone uncertain) that Warm Colors usually comprise of: Yellow, Orange, Red, Brown, and Gold. Cool Colors usually comprised of: Blue, Green, Violet. As well as neutral or cool based Silvers and Grays (grays can be warm based too).
November 5, 2007 at 5:05 am #634133I just realised something… I voted for warm colors, but my second favorite dragon color is emerald (favorite is ruby).
That said, as a general rule I do prefer warm colors: reds, oranges, yellows…
November 5, 2007 at 5:27 am #634134both… my favorite colors are blue,purple,yellow, and orange…
but I would REALLY LOVE to see a blue BLUE dragon! 😀
Sorry, with NO green! 😛November 5, 2007 at 5:38 am #634135I’m a winter so I love cool colours. And I totally love the Fire and Ice OW. I wants it, precious… 😈
November 5, 2007 at 6:14 am #634136I voted for warm, but I buy anything…
November 5, 2007 at 7:43 am #634137Me too! 😆
November 5, 2007 at 2:37 pm #634138I said I liked warm colors because I really like the Autumn Leaf color, Gold, and Brown, but I also like the Jade and Emerald colors too.
Mostly I wear gemstone colors, like emerald green, sapphire blue, amethyst purple, garnet red, but I also like brown and pink a lot for clothes.
