I know we each have our own problems and issues but not like those poor people in Haiti. I have been through Hurricane Katrina here by the water and I can relate to the disaster state of mind. I lost a few friends to drowning during that storm and I know how helpless it makes you feel.I also know how good it felt to get water and supplies coming in.We all spend a lot of money here on our pretties and we do take our siuations for granted at times. So please, let us send our thoughts and prayers to those people and their loved ones that are hurting, wondering and waiting for news about their own.And if possible, help out in some small way.Every little bit helps. Thanks for listening 🙂

Thank you for sharing your perspective. 🙂 I sure hope my employer does a matching gift deal like they did after Katrina–wait a few more days and if not I’ll give on my own.

I look at it this way—when you think your life is bad, someone always has it worst off than you! I can’t imagine the thoughts going through these people’s heads as they look around at the total destruction that surrounds them–crumbled buildings, dead bodies, wounded on mats waiting for medical care. I was hoping this would be a better year–it doesn’t look like that will be the case with Haiti. 🙁

            I feel for them. 🙁

I recommend that if anyone donates, do it thru Red Cross. Not that Red Cross may or may not have their problems, but they are established and know how to manage funds. All these new charities that are popping up are ripe for issues.

I just saw on the internet that a powerful aftershock hit Haiti! Living in the SF Bay Area in California I can relate. The bad thing about earthquakes is that when they are over, they are not quite over! When we had that Lome Prieta quake in ’89 everyone here was on edge. If I heard the building pop I jumped! So those poor people are just trying to get their lives back together when another jolt sends them reeling! It plays upon you mentally–you feel you’re not safe and everything frightens you! My heart does go out to them and I think about the plight of these people everyday.

Another bad after-shock today. At 6.0,I would call that an earthquake, would you?I live down here and no earthquakes,we get the hurricanes and rain, rain, rain :nea:

My son’s school is doing a fundraiser called “Hats for Haiti”. All they have to do is bring in $1 to donate and they can wear their favorite hat all day today. When I dropped him off about half of the kids who were there already were wearing hats.

Now that is real nice. I think they should do something like that for here at work. Wonder if I could arrange it… Have a civilian clothes day or something.
