I know I saw in a post somewhere that someone can make ceramic dragons. The lady I used to get mine from on ebay no longer sells and I can’t find any that I like. I want to get a few to practice on with my airbrush before I try it out on windstones. Anyone know who it was that makes ceramics on here or where I can get some?
April 15, 2007 at 9:42 pm #562402I think drag0nfeathers has some ceramics, but I’m not sure if they are all dragons or not…
April 15, 2007 at 10:57 pm #562403Right now all my dragon bisque is gone. I sent it to dragoness and DragonsCavern. With the move coming up I really doubt we’ll be able to fit in any kind of pouring in for new ones, nevermind a firing. Most of the molds are stored pretty deep in our warehouse at the moment. When the warmer weather comes around I’m going to try and convince my step dad to re-open the studio so I can still have access to them, but I don’t know for sure what will happen with that. They want to sell everything and just dump the whole studio on someone else.
I have other bisque, like some animals (lots of kitties) and holiday stuff. Nothing too wonderful I’m afraid. Most of it has already been picked over.
There is some decent bisque on ebay for pretty cheap. Just look up dragon bisque and you’ll find a ton of it.

I had a unicorn (was a doc holliday mold but don’t know the number), my cat broke it and I really wanted to get another one. I can’t seem to find any on ebay that I like so I guess I’ll have to keep looking.
Edit: Ooooh it took some looking around but I found an ebay store that has the unicorn I was looking for and a dragon and wolf I liked. YAY!
April 15, 2007 at 11:52 pm #562405I have the Doc Holiday 2 headed dragon, but the mold is so worn out the slip runs out and makes a huge mess, and it nearly always sticks like mad, so getting anything out of it is near impossible.
I do believe I have a dragon in the egg mold floating around here. I will see if I can find it, get my kiln set up and find a source for slip, if I can get at least 5 of you interested. Or at least be making at least 5 of the little things.
I also have a bookend mold that lets me choose between, horse, unicorn, pegasus, or unipeg.
Let me know and I will get the stuff together, need to anyway, just been procrastinating, so folks give me a good reason to get off my can. 🙂

April 16, 2007 at 1:36 am #562407I’m pretty sure I have a unicorn bust. About a foot tall I think.

The cat, Dinah, doesn’t count. *chuckle*
The one on the left wings failed on me, so it ended up just being a unicorn, the other made it through, so it is a unipeg.
This set was done for my neice.

Actually, I sorta did the same thing to test out colorings before I tackled some PYOs. I actually just found some little plaster (?) statues at Walmart of all places. They’re only about 2-3″ big overall, but if you just want to practice colors or techniques, you cant beat them. They’re about a buck a piece, which is even better.
If you still want actual ceramic stuff to paint, check your local yellow pages; they may have some places listed so you don’t have to pay a fortune in shipping online. 🙂

Will do, we just moved in October, and I haven’t unpacked everything just yet. In fact I am not even positive where on earth my molds are, I just know I have them, somewhere.
But perhaps next weekend, I have guests this weekend, I will dig them out and see how they are. I do know that the bookend mold was pretty new, it hadn’t been used much, so the details on it are really good.
I’ll have to find a source for slip, and then set up my kiln and all that, but I will see if I can manage to find that stuff soon.
