Hi Melody!
I bought a Mint in box Ruby Old Warrior… when I opened the box I could’nt wait to take pictures to pass them along to my friends, when I uploaded the photos from my camera to the computer I noticed this dragon has what looks like Cataracts in both eyes (to the naked eye you cant see it, only with the flash can it be seen)
I was wondering if you have ever seen this before, and what might have caused it? :shrug:He is the only dragon I have seen with eyes that photograph like this.
Thank you for your time. π
October 16, 2010 at 3:17 pm #829038That’s kind of cool actually, since you can only see it with the flash I mean.
Got a busted Windstone?

I have seen it a little in one of my really old dragons. But that visible by the naked eye. Weird, but kinda cool that your OW’s ‘condition’ is only seen via a camera flash π .

When the pupils are under fired or unfired they are light greyish… but you would notice that without the camera, it would be very obvious!
Do the eyes look at all different from your other dragons’ eyes in normal light?
Don’t worry, only protective spirits haunt Windstones. (That is what the ebay auctions say).October 17, 2010 at 9:46 pm #829041I think this is a problem with the firing temp (when the eyes are fired after the pupils are painted). A lot of the eyes at the shop have dusty looking pupils in normal light, and it looks really bad if they get camera flash right in their eyes. The red OW eyes have it a little, and some of the old dark brown eyes have it a lot.

Yes, apon closer inspection… they grayish white pupil is visible to the naked eye… but the camera flash exacerbates this poor fellows condition! I guess its fitting for an Old warrior.
