so you want a colin to run the country after a Bush??
Doesn’t sound good to me sounds messy!!!That is a very inappropriate statement. And uncalled for.
And yes, I would much rather have Collin run the country than Hillary. Collin, when even compared to that particular piece of anatomy is still cleaner than most of the politicians up for choosing, including Hillary.
He won’t run for president, I know, but I can wish, right? That’s actually one of the better reasons why I think he’d make a good president. The reluctant leader is always better than the leader that has to pander in order to get you to vote for them.
December 11, 2007 at 2:52 am #644436Actually, I just wish the election was over. It seems like the campaigning has been going on forever and the election is still nearly a year away. I can’t remember the campaigning ever starting this early and being this intense. I pretty sick of it.

Please don’t get upset, everyone is just making comments. I really am interested in what others have to say and if we start fighting between outselves the thread will get pulled.
I love Collin Powell, but knew he would never run. As for oil and prices..I live in South Louisiana and our economy is dependant on oil. People here complain, but anyone can get a job, if they want to work. So high oil prices are good and bad. They support many people who might be on welfare if they couldn’t get a good job on an offshore rig. But they unfairly put financial stress on people in other states.
I can see both sides of the oil prices. Most people can’t, but I lived through the 80’s when many people here lost jobs and houses and filed for bankruptcy because the bottom fell out of the oilfield. My family lived in a 28 foot travel trailer for a year because we were basically homeless for a year.
We all have our experiences and prejudices…but please don’t take anything to seriously on this thread, we need to keep it nice 🙂 Merry Christmas !

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Doesn’t matter who you are. If you disagree with someone, tell them, but don’t slam their beliefs. It’s supposed to be fun here.
Colin, Bush, Kerry, Clinton, Obama, etc. All people, Most hopefuls. Doesn’t mean any of them will be president next term. 😉(And Nam the almighty has already said to play nice!) 😉 😆

December 11, 2007 at 3:34 am #644445At this point, I am so disgusted with politicians, that I don’t want any of them for president. I’d rather they found some decent person who is good at organizing things dragged out of their house and plopped into the job. Especially if they don’t want it!
Anyone who wants the job is suspect. Period. I loathe Hillary and her politics, she is too left wing, and scary. I don’t know much about Obama, but I really have issues with someone with an Arabic background and name, he may have been born in the US, but he was still raised by an ethnic group who hates us.
Bush, I’m grateful he can’t continue, he’s forgotten what the Presidency is about, and seems to think this is a monarchy…president does not equal king, dude.
Personally I’d like to see a full turnover of the house and senate along with the president. We need new people, new ideas and younger people in charge, the dinosaurs in there now are too set in their ways, and only care about their creature comforts, anything that could upset that they oppose, even if it would be a benefit in the long run. We also need to set term limits on the house and senate, we have it for the presidency, why didn’t the founding fathers do it for them too, big mistake.
Anyway, I have no opinions about who should be president, at present I don’t consider any of the choices any good, they are all more or less equally bad. Hillary being the worst disaster in the running.

December 11, 2007 at 3:54 am #644447I don’t like any of them… I don’t beleive that any of them are actually sincere in what they say…
They just want the job and the money…

I did not get upset. I can be quite, quite verbose, and very succinct when I do get angry, and/or upset, and I am not afraid to call someone when they make me either. I was however, making a statement that if you wanted mature, and interesting conversation about people’s politics, then making the crude, and immature pun upon Collin’s name being close to the word ‘colon’ is not on the conversation menu. Additionally, I was stating my irritation at the fact that all political parties (regardless of stance, candidate, or affiliation) must seemingly pander and sell their views to us, the “audience” in order to win not only the money, but the leadership of this country. It’s a sad situation, no matter what frame of mind you take on it.
And I can see the other side of the fence regarding oil. Oil can be either a boon or a curse, depending upon how it is handled. It has the capacity to not only help out third world countries that have oil as a natural resource when managed properly (In other words… when huge American oil corporations or OPEC does not get involved) but be an enviornmentally safe, and organized business.

I’m right there with you Kyrin. We have a terrible lineup this election for candidates. 🙁 At this point it’s just a way to figure out what is the least of the evils. :/
