Yup, it is really a pain in the rump!

On the other hand, it pays the bills and I’m not out digging ditches or something. 😆 I guess it’s the way of the future…I know Wal-Mart and Lowes both have rah rah sessions before their store open…

Target has them too, although not before the store opens. I’ve gone shopping right after it opens and heard them calling all the associates to their daily meeting. 😉

How embarrassing! At least ours are behind closed doors.

Even if people wanted to be encouraged by pep talk, from what I’ve seen of it this chatter of “team” and “we can do it” is too childish to be taken seriously. It’d like they’re talking to a bunch of first-graders staging a sports events.

The retail store I work at, Mervyns, does it’s “morning meeting” every morning, and they say the same things every morning and all day. It’s not encouraging and yeah there are a couple idiot managers who insist on talking like we’re all 1st graders. There’s one girl who uses the word “team” in every sentence.

“Okay team! We can do it Team! Good job Team! Team don’t forget to do this and don’t forget to do that Team!” and she says it in a nasally little kid voice every five minutes…”TEEEEEEAM!” I just want to slap her through the walkie talkies we have to carry and listen to…

I feel your pain! We have to carry them, too. I always say things back without keying it, make faces, roll my eyes….one time a customer saw me rolling my eyes and we both had a good laugh…at first she thought I was rolling my eyes at her. 😳 😆

Obviously we all find this “yay team” stuff to be offensive, so I wonder why they continue to teach this in management training as an effective way to motivate people. 😕

There are actually some employees that enjoy being treated like that! I worked with tons of people that get all into the stupid games and pep talks. 🙄 I don’t know what’s wrong with them. I guess they’re just overly cheerful and excitable people. I’m not a grumpy person, but there is a limit with certain stuff!

Seriously? I just find that when other people are overly giddy and chipper, it annoys me to the point of grumpiness. 😛 You too?

Yes, when people act like that… they tend to get on my nerves pretty quickly. I can only take so much of it.
