Hi!
It’s me, Bowhead Whale. You may remember me for talking about my self-made stuffed animals on the Extinction forum. You can see a lot of them in this link:

I just saw you had to register in the forum first… 😳 But maybe if you go to the “Image Gallery” of the Extinction forum? There are a lot of pictures you can see. My stuffed animals are recognizable by the red carpet on the background of each plush photo.

January 28, 2008 at 4:03 pm #659678Cool. I think the mammoth was my favorite. Do you have a personal interest in these types of animals/marine life?
January 29, 2008 at 1:39 am #659679I like the Moa, the Mammoth and the Snail!!! 😉

-J R R TolkienFebruary 1, 2008 at 7:15 pm #659682Well, let’s say I wouldn’t refuse to sell them. It’s not that I am not sad to see them go, but I need storage space for the new plushes I promised my Extinction forum friends I would make.
You can see the totality of my plushes here:

-J R R TolkienFebruary 5, 2008 at 7:58 pm #659684Yes, I could make a coelacanth plushie. However, I’m not so sure about its actual color; a picture of a specimen shown it in brown, while another one, underwater, looked blue with white spots (because of water, of course), while books describe vaguely it as “greyish color”. So, my confusion about it made me choose other animals to make in plush…
February 7, 2008 at 5:22 am #659685Yeah, water does funny things to color…my marine biology proffessor once argued that Garabaldi fish are actually green, and aren’t bright orange at all, because they live in water depth where orange doesn’t show. 🙄 I suppose if you did it a graish blue, you’d probably be safe! 🙂 How much do you charge for your plushies??

-J R R TolkienFebruary 7, 2008 at 8:22 pm #659686Well, it depends on two things:
1- The size. A bigger plush (like my mammals) will generally cost more than a smaller plush (like my spiders), simply because I use more material.
2- The fabrics used. A number of my plushes contain expensive fabric, like those for which I used silk, REAL silk. It’s along story, where I got this fushia silk…So, an average-sized coelacants, for which I would use the remains of my light greyish blue plush (plus white spots and a fushia silk mouth), would cost between 10$ and 15$, plus shipping. Is it too much?
