Cats now Kiara, Kovu, Simba, and Nala all from the Lion King and the Lion King 2November 28, 2007 at 2:31 am #639384I forgot about the geese we raised when I was little! π―
We had a really cool white goose and her name was Downy. She kept trying to hatch her eggs (no gander) so we bought 3 goslings and stuffed them under her while she was ‘setting’ on her nest. She raised them and they were named Snap, Crackle, and Pop! π
They were so tame that we would all jump in the old car–geese, too–and drive down the steep hill to the Colorado river (in Austin, TX). We’d all go swimming, and when it was time to go, we hollered at Downy and her brood. They would swim back to us, waddle back to the car, climb in the back floorboard, and up the hill we would go!
They were really good ‘watchdogs’, too! Way louder than our ‘regular’ guardians… π

That’s neat. I didn’t know geese would take directions like that.
November 28, 2007 at 10:47 am #639388That is a really neat story about the geese. Cute names, too. π
I also like the beta named Fluffy. π
November 28, 2007 at 10:53 pm #639389Geese love playing ‘follow the leader’. Watch the movie “Fly Away Home”–they did the same thing.
I love it because it brings back lots of childhood memories–Snap and Pop were Canada geese, too! π
