I moved this from the flea market section cuz I realy want to know what everyone thinks!
I don’t quite understand the new vs old peacock. These peacocks are sitting in the order I bought them in. The scratcher was bought about 12 years ago. I had the emperor ordered in last August 06. And the old warrior was ordered in and bought January 07.
The scratcher and the old warrior have the same colourings. So, I don’t understand, if there is old and new peacock, how is it that the old warrior bought recently is in the old peacock colours. Or was it just certain scuplts (like emperor and scratching and lap) were one type of peacock coloration and other sculpts (the family) in the other peacock. Or, was it just the painter who decided.
And, which peacock does everyone like better?
April 16, 2007 at 5:47 pm #562588Im pretty sure the newer peacock is just more vibrant. I like the brighter peacock better. I did put an old and new dragon together today to take a pic, but decided against it since I couldnt really tell the difference that much. Anyone else have a good comparison pic? Never mind… found on in the other thread.
The fledge is a newer sculpt, thats why I think the colors are different. I still like the brighter. I just realized the two I put together (A young and male) are both the older darker color)

Hmmmm… Maybe it was just painting styles.
April 16, 2007 at 7:00 pm #562591That’s interesting. I thought the scratcher was much newer than that! I didn’t know they were being made 12 years ago, but it looks like they were, now that I check.
The family dragons (mom, male, young, hatching) are still older yet though.
April 16, 2007 at 7:03 pm #562592Hmmm thats confusing, the peacock scratcher i saw was pritty much light blue all over.
April 16, 2007 at 7:19 pm #562593I wonder if the emperor you got had been stored for awhile? He certainly looks like an older peacock. Or did the emperors just stay that shade?
Personally I prefer the newer peacock. I love the OW in that shade.
April 16, 2007 at 7:27 pm #562594One of my pieces is a peacock scratcher and it’s pretty bright, my fledgie is less brilliant than the pic up above but I like them both.
April 16, 2007 at 7:40 pm #562595April 16, 2007 at 7:42 pm #562596I think mine run the whole spectrum of Peacock. My Male is Really dark Blue and Purple with no green, My Oriental is really dark too, no green, and doesn’t match the Young Oriental or the Sun Dragon. Then My Riser is really bright and vibrant. the rest all fall somewhere in between.
April 17, 2007 at 6:58 pm #562597I think I only have 2 peacock, a young and a hatching. They are both the darker color. I do like the new color tho.

Exactly what I was thinking -
