I bought a gigantic bag of packing peanuts at The Container Store for only $19. It’s the 12 cubic feet size bag. The UPS Store sells this size bag for $35, and get this–regular styrofoam peanuts were the same price at The Container Store as the dissolvable, eco-safe kind. I know at Staples they sell something like a 2 cubic feet bag of the eco-peanuts for about $10.
It’s the best deal I’ve found on peanuts and I’m happy that the environmentally sounder choice wasn’t marked up. Just a good find–I don’t know if anyone else has found a better deal on new peanuts. I’ll be good on them for a long time now!
I have never shopped for them–at my work they have lots and since I bought lots of Windstones here lately–I have a huge bag full! They are the dissolvable kind and they’ll last me for a long, long time! 😀
Good job finding that…I HATE shopping for shipping supplies because they ALWAYS seem overpriced.
Wal-Mart was good price-wise but they only sell small bags. 🙁Yeah, up till now I’ve recycled every peanut, bubble sheet, and box I can, but after having to buy some $5 2 cu ft. bags, I started looking for a slightly better deal. That’s what I forgot to mention in my first post–if anyone else has a Container Store near them, it’s a good place for packing supplies!
