Poor puppy!!
I had a smile on my face the entire time I read this.
Cats are pack animals I’m surprised the cats could not tell it was a play growl though.
I’m glad everyone was OKMay 23, 2008 at 12:56 am #706172He’s so cute. I was going to ask if he was a weim. lab mix.
He’ll settle down, so will the cats.

He needs extra belly rubs!
My childhood dog (Pixie), she would growl at us if me and my brother started to fight (even if it was playfully)…. she was a protective one. The cats on the other hand, I don’t think they cared what happened to us, they just sorta stared with a smug look on their face, like they were saying…
“Look, the people are trying to kill each other again! Let’s watch to see if they actually succeed this time!”

Seriously tho, that’s just amazing, I’m glad everyone is all right!
May 23, 2008 at 5:43 am #706176I had to laugh at that. I didn’t know cats would do that kind of thing. I’m glad nobody was seriously hurt.
May 23, 2008 at 5:46 am #706177I dont care who you are, thats funny right there!! Sorry. I dont suppose it was funny at the time, but the mental image is hard not to chuckle at. 😆
May 23, 2008 at 6:36 am #706178Poor doggie!!! He looks so funny sleeping upside down like that!
Our dog gets all excited and barks and leaps at us if we play fight. Though he usually barks at the one being attacked 🙄
My mom had a weimerianer (I know it’s spelled wrong) when she was growing up and they had a cat that liked to eat his food. They always seperated them except for one time. The dog went after the cat who was eating his food, cat took a swipe at the dog and got him on the nose, dog never bothered cat again.
May 23, 2008 at 6:44 am #706179Friends of mine used to have a huge German Shepherd cross. He was a lovely, lovely dog, although he had about as much brains as the average chicken. Unfortunately, due to some inconsistent training, he thought the hierarchy went Dad, Sons, Dog, Mum, Daughters. When I was playfighting with my boyfriend-at-the-time, Goofy’d weigh in on his side. Which is hilarious until you get licked in the face!
He eventually re-arranged his personal hierarchy, to accept me as his superior. After he growled at me and refused to follow me while I was taking him for a walk once, he discovered that I may have been polite – but I would NOT take that behaviour from him.
May 23, 2008 at 7:39 am #706180ROFL Poor Shadow! Give him some extra tummy rubs from me.
