I’ll be out of town for a couple of days. We found out on Monday that hubby’s grandmother passed away. She was a great woman, raised 7 kids all by herself…always treated me like one of the family. We’re leaving today (in a couple of minutes) and will be back Friday.

October 29, 2009 at 12:09 am #787920Thanks all. Found out Hubby’s Grandmother passed away last Sunday. Drove back to his hometown Tuesday through rain, sleet, fog and heavy traffic. A trip that usually takes us 3 hours took 4.5. Got to the viewing for the last 20 minutes.
Wednesday, just as we were leaving the house to go to the funeral service, I fell down the stairs. Screwed my left ankle up good. It’s still swollen up like a balloon and is currently a lovely shade of black and purple (I have no visible ankle at this time cause it’s so swollen) and yes, I have been icing it every night and most of the day. Funeral was hard, she was a great lady. She could have made it hard for us when hubby introduced me to the family. They come from a really small town (read no non-caucasians) but she always treated me like one of her grandkids right from the start.
And now that we’re back, I have a horrible head cold. Then I haven’t been able to get on the forum for more than a minute for the past few days. September and October have not been good months…
October 29, 2009 at 12:15 am #787921Glad you’re back safe but sorry about your ankle and head cold. Hope you feel better soon!
