Our newest family member

Last week my husband was doing a garage door repair and fell in love with a little black kitten that was there. Very people oriented and fearless. Only 10 – 12 weeks old. Turned out that this young couple had rescued him (about a month ago) from the middle of the highway at night. They said he didn’t even move when they stopped to get him. Based on his injures, the vet feels that he was probably thrown out of a car. Nothing too bad. Various scrapes, bottom lip cut, and a couple of chipped teeth. I think it must have happened very shortly before he was found as he seemed rather dazed. How can people do this? 🙁

Anyway, he had healed up well, and they were looking for a new home for him, as they already have 3 cats and a big dog. So Russ comes home telling me all about this cat that we don’t need. (We already have 3). Long story short, we ended up bringing him home. He is settling in well. The other cats aren’t real happy about this, but they are getting over it. He’s already chasing them around the house. 🙂 He sleeps with us at night, usually under the covers. I finally got a few photos today, so here he is. Meet Lucky,(what else could we name him? 🙂 )

He is too cute! Looks like he has lots of personality. Congrats on the new family member and you did a wonderful thing giving him a home. Your husband is a sweetheart for falling in love with the little guy.

Well, things are progressing nicely with Lucky and the other cats. Greykin is starting to play with him and Leo and Jazz are tolerating him better. At least they don’t mind eating together! 🙂

Jazz is not impressed, but at least did not run off.
