July 12, 2008 at 10:51 pm #722456I saw that. They also have another up too. Look at their other things for sale.
July 12, 2008 at 10:56 pm #722457Yes they have this one and it’s the same picture as the other auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Winstone-Pegasus-Family_W0QQitemZ300240172550QQihZ020QQcategoryZ1340QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemIn his description he has the following written:
“I will reserve the right to refuse any bid on this collection as I am far too aware of its value.”Isn’t that against eBay rules and policies?
After all the bids are legit, shouldn’t he honour them?
πJuly 12, 2008 at 11:37 pm #722458I think they mean if you send them a message offering them less for it.
July 12, 2008 at 11:43 pm #722459Such a warm and loving description. Not exactly making me rush off to place a bid. π

There would have to be a reserve. If there is no reserve it would go to the highest bidder, even if that’s only $0.99. Refusing to sell it at that price would be a definite black mark. The odd thing is that the other auction for the same thing has a minimum opening bid and (even in the title) the comment that offers are welcome. Presumably offers that are LESS than the opening bid, which means circumventing eBay… Now that is against eBay policy.
I’m not sure how eBay would take to someone having two auctions for the same set of statues, though. Almost makes me want to click on the “Report this item” button to find out…

July 13, 2008 at 6:11 pm #722462They are selling the thing twice? That’s kinda ridiculous. And I can get 2 of 3 of them at Millenium in West Ed for way cheaper then that. Little guy for $66, momma for $115, and I doubt that male is $369. And that’s with full store markup from a non authorized dealer. π
Loving description… makes me want to bypass, and to report the bugger for auctioning the same thing twice.
July 13, 2008 at 7:16 pm #722463I ask the seller if they had two fameilies like that and this is what the reply was:
“Hello
No I only have one. I relisted the same family with the correct spelling and we also know what we have to have. The current bid on the auction with the wrong spelling will not buy it in the least. It clearly states that in the item description.
We know its value and not parting with it unless we are satisfied with the final auction bid. Otherwise I will be more then happy to keep it.Thanks”
OK so now I’m really confused! π

July 13, 2008 at 9:28 pm #722466So whoever wins the first auction for the set is SOL because they aren’t bidding enough, and the seller is just going to tell them “too bad” and completely disregard it in favor of the second auction? π I wonder if the people already bidding on it are aware that they get nothing even if they rightfully win… π
