I thought ya’ll would appreciate these, as they differ a bit.
Last summer, I got this guy from a gallery in Tobermory. It’s one of Betty Nelson-Daniel’s Mocking Birds – they had 4 or 5 of them, and choosing one was difficult! Made with all sorts of different materials.
And in Mexico, I got this Mayan sculpture, made out of onyx, obsidian and mother of pearl (I think). It’s hand-carved, and just a bit taller than the PYO phoenix. The profile is what got me; very representative, I find, of the Mayan people rendering.
