Big Warm Hugs !June 19, 2019 at 12:29 pm #1570114Hmm that’s interesting. I wonder if Windstone keeps numbers on all their sculpts like that? Like Drag0n, it feels like there were more of them made.
I have a first batch red eyed of this oriental and the young one… though mine don’t have as much patina color on them.It really is amazing what you can find at goodwill or second hand shops. I’ve run into many Windstones at second hand shops actually (but only purchased one).
June 20, 2019 at 11:54 am #1570177June 27, 2019 at 3:38 pm #1570930The brown eyes actually look very nice. Nicer then I thought they would.
The only reason why I thought there was more then one red eyed batch was I remember not liking my 1st one because the surface of the scales looked almost like they had a hammered finish. In retrospect it looked MORE like actual cast bronze which was cool, but I bought a second one and sold off my 1st batch one to keep the one with the smoother scales and more patina on the fur. I later did the same for my Sun Dragon, but he has teal eyes, not red.
Got a busted Windstone?

They were all different. My brown eyed one has a super rough texture. We tried really hard to get a weathered looking, textured finish to go with the defects in the castings! The paint texture was was hard to achieve, and then the castings improved, so we gave up and let the paint go on smoother as time went on.

Susie would have records of how many recent things we sold.
It is possible we do still have the 40+ years worth of paper order forms stashed somewhere, but we don’t have accessible records! I’d be curious to know how many dragons we’ve sold, in total.June 28, 2019 at 1:08 pm #1571114Oh Melody that brown eyed one is lovely.
The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed.
