Congratulations I am so glad a Forum member got her
June 30, 2008 at 3:49 pm #717510Congrats.
BUT from what I remember FLEGIES are young EMPERORS which means they are male!!!?? They are not young SK’sJune 30, 2008 at 4:15 pm #717511I use the theory that it’s hard to tell the gender of a young creature just from appearance, therefore you can make up your own mind about it’s gender judging by what looks right to you. 😉
To me, this little one looks like a girl. I’d say my BG Fledge looks more male to me. But each to their own. Putting an identity to them is all part of the fun.

The fledglings are male to me (and all of Melody’s descriptions)… but I would have normally stayed out of this kind of discussion… but it caught my attention when you said “judge by appearance”. I said before in another “gender-discussion” about a painting scheme… it was another purple fledgling… to me, purple is a masculine color. Kings wore it, so when I see purple I think male.
Either way, this new fledging still looks male to me. But you are correct with “each his own” 🙂 I just had to voice something because this is the second time a purple fledgling was called out by appearance because he was purple. (Just think about Birdo from the Mario series… he’s a pink dinosaur XD)June 30, 2008 at 7:53 pm #717513I’m not just calling it a “her” because of the purple so don’t worry about that. 😉 I think the OWs wear purple very handsomely. I guess I judge by the way the blend of colours make the face shape look and that determines it? Something like that anyway. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comJuly 4, 2008 at 7:59 pm #717522It’s personal, and in no way a question for you to answer, but I always did wonder how much you get paid for each thing you paint. I recall you saying a percent, but I always wondered what that was.
July 4, 2008 at 9:13 pm #717523I cannot discuss it.
