I swear, I’m going to get bricked for making up the weirdest names for my dragon colors. ((Actually I’m doing this on purpose to an extent, so that I hopefully won’t use a name that Melody will want for future use…))
Anyhow, this color was based on the Conch Shell color I painted on a Keeper PYO a while back. Then it evolved a little bit into a color mom said looked like orchids. I added some fancy markings on their scales- then they really looked like flowers! So they are Orchid Shell. Orchid like shell colored…? I don’t know. Someone send me some coffee, I’m obviously half awake.
Okay, I apologize in advance for these photos. I’m just too exhausted tonight to make them pretty with black backgrounds, etc.
The Fledge has straw colored eyes. I know, I wanted to give him lavender!!! I WANTED TO! 😆 But I don’t have any lavender in his size, and the factory can’t exactly make me any and send them right now. All their eyeballs are probably on a truck somewheres… Anyhow. The stone is a natural amethyst.
The momma coiled… ahh I wish I could keep her. Well, maybe not, I have looming bills. But her colors did really grow on me. She’s elegant, feminine and so pretty. She has lavender eyes and neatest of all- her stone is a natural, genuine pink sapphire. It was a beast to get a genuine pink sapphire in her size let me tell you. It’s very pretty.
These are shipping to Windstone right now and will likely be amongst the last of their eBay stuff before they move to Oregon!

My art: featherdust.comJune 6, 2008 at 1:17 am #711342I love those colours! Do you think you’ll make more than one of each in the future? Love the Fledge but I agree in that Lavender eyes would finish it off nicely. Just wondering if you’d attempt that at one point? 🙂

It matters on if:
1. Windstone makes lavender eyes in this size,
2. I get more fledge blanks to paint. This probably won’t be till casting is set up again… a few months at least. 🙂But yes, I will consider possibly doing another. As a warning though- these take eons to do (honestly, takes forever) and I do all these colors on a whim so any that I might make in the future will probably end up looking different than this one.

June 6, 2008 at 1:35 am #711346I like the straw yellow eyes in the fledgling. They accent the belly color.

June 6, 2008 at 1:53 am #711350your use of such softly blended pearl and pastel colors is just sooo pleasing. the deepness of the purple against the soft orchid like pink is just soooo pleasing. these are wonderful!

What blanks do you have left to paint? Any chance of a crocus mother coiled? Or another fledge? I really liked the greenish tint they had.June 6, 2008 at 2:26 am #711354I love you Nam.
