Do you think you can take her, Dragoness?? If so, (And she is not your boss) Just get up in her face and tell her to mind her own buisness. When she comes over and tells you something that someone said about you, march her straight over to the person that supposably said it and tell her what you heard. Maybe she will stop coming to you and you can expose her for a gossip. I adore gossips at work, cuz if they tell me something, I will go straight to the source and take the perp with me. I cant stand stupid/just plain nasty people.
Take her? Fight her? She is definately not my boss but she tries to be one. I should definately try and say something, but I am not sure that will help. Usually, I try to ignore her and I don’t talk to her unless I need to. Haha, I would like to expose her for gossip. I bet a lot of people just act like her friends and use her for something.

Of course, if you ever need reassurance on that you can always come here! 😀 I hope you don’t have to deal with that woman much longer. And I like Ski’s strategy. A lot.

Yeah…like you’re gonna fight her… If she is meaner than you then this will not work, but when she starts getting nasty, just get in her face and ask her what the heck (Use f-word instead of heck, of course) she is about. And you gotta get your whole body an inch or so from her and confront her right in the eyes. If you do this and she thinks that if she makes one wrong move you’re gonna level her, maybe she’ll shut up. Usually they back up and back down. And really, exposing her whenever she runs her mouth is just alot of fun. I love watching them flounder when confronted. 😈

Thanks GB. You guys are great. I am hoping 2 years and she will retire. I have already worked with her for 10 years, so it is on the down hill, I think.February 14, 2007 at 6:04 pm #539168Two years! Whoa. I think I gotta get older before that counts as “not very long” to me. 😆

Haha, there was a time where she made me so mad that I yelled at her, of course I felt bad after but she did deserve it. And I am not sure what I can do before it is too much and being sued for harrassment is not something I want to happen. Haha, I would love to see her flounder. *Hmmm*February 14, 2007 at 6:29 pm #539170Well, whatever you do, I hope it makes her stop, wether its Mimis more civil approach, or my more fun one 😉
February 14, 2007 at 6:32 pm #539171I cannot stand the Maintenance man at work. He is a stupid man, who acta 15 instead of his 39 years of age. So, whenever I walk by him or him by me, I just pick a spot on the wall and stare at it, or act like there is no one else in the room or hall period. It’s great! 3 times he’s tried to talk to me, and I just act like he doesn’t exist. I don’t want an apology from him, so why should I listen to him?
Second another girl decided to start rumors around work. My name got drug into it, and I walked right up infront of her and infront of aobut 15 people told ehr that I never wanted to hear my name come out of her mouth unless I was standing directly infront of her and she was talking straight to me. I also added at the end, that all I ever wanted to be was a figment of ehr imagination. She and I get along now, and she doesn’t start crap with anyone else. She is 2 times my size… 😆February 14, 2007 at 6:34 pm #539172That’s direct and to the point! Sounds like you’ve got a handle on things, WSC.
February 14, 2007 at 6:39 pm #539173I grew up in a little po-dunk town where everyone talked about everyone else. I got tired of it. I live in a town with a pop. of about 400. I lvoe it, no one knows me, because I leave whenever I have to get anything (there isn’t anything here to shop at! 😯 ) so they don’t see me around town. I am 34, not 16 so I don’t deal well with people being that way. It’s kiddy stuff. 🙄

I like the idea of the fun one, hmmm…Maybe I should use both of them. Haha, that would confuse her and make her stop. 😆

February 14, 2007 at 8:51 pm #539176What happened to your avatar, WSC? I miss the lion.
February 15, 2007 at 2:38 am #539177I just do the ignore them and hopefully they’ll go away. Works most of the time. Of course I’m in a locked room by myself 99% of the time. I get to deal with bullys on the phone more often. (Most of the people at head office treat the people that work in the stores really badly)
I don’t get alot of people like you have to deal with. I get the more annoying kind of sneaky people. Like one day I put my pen down, turned from the desk for one second, turned back around and my pen was gone. Of course a week later it showed up at the checkouts, but oh it’s the cashiers pen not mine. 🙄 right.
The worst are the people who break equiptment like PDT’s, rascals, radios, printers, etc, and don’t own up to it. It seems like we have to call for service (IBM, ADT, Rioche…) almost everyday. I also get the pleasure of adjusting item counts for “known theft” where we find the discarded package. People throw all sorts of junk in that bin. I’ve had everything from broken glass to butchers knives. To open packages that only need to be patched up and discounted. I feel like such a mother. I’m always cleaning up after somebody.
February 15, 2007 at 4:14 am #539178I would keep bringing the person talked about directly to the person doing the talking EVERY TIME it happens eventually the game will be over and she will stop. I would also confront her with things like we DO NOT have to tell the entire office when WE get food, and when asked why you do not eat at your own desk ask her what difference it makes to her where you eat. Eventually she will see that you are not going to take any crap from her and hoepfully she will stop. I woudl also ask her if her arms and legs where broken when asking you to get paper for any printer.
Ig you have ever seen Florence on the Jefferson’s THAT is how you should handle things.
