that’s….a nice photoshop job?
That particular tornado photo is…oh, I want to say at least 8 years old, or older. It’s been around a while, and I think. It was actually taken in Florida and you can get a poster from the Tornado Project’s website with it on there.
The rig was pasted in.
Even without the rig, though, it’s still a very impressive photo, and one of my tornado favorites!
Edit: Some cursory google research tells me that the photo is dated June 15, 1991 by the Weather Service and taken near Lake Okeechobee in Florida.
Good heavens, did you took it down because I said it wasn’t real? The tornado/lightning photo was quite real, and is a weather classic. The rig and the story just wasn’t.
It was this photo purplecat.

The photo originally posted had an oil rig added in, but the tornado and lightning were real enough. The tornado photo is quite old, and a classic.
