-J R R TolkienJanuary 31, 2007 at 3:49 am #534497I’ll get the bidding started on the fellow. Really don’t expect to get it, but who knows.
That one is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t believe your letting him go.
In your eBay auction you mention that you do commissions. Do you mind if I ask what your prices are?
January 31, 2007 at 4:12 am #534498Sure! I’m asking $150 for dragons, $160 for wolves and kirins, and $175+ for griffins…the griffins are a lot more work than the others, and some of the tabby designs I do really take A LOT of time and effort, so I charge more for some than others depending on what design you want. These prices include the unpainted sculpture but not shipping. PM me if you are interested!

-J R R TolkienJanuary 31, 2007 at 4:18 am #534499Thanks so much. I still have to decide if I want to brave the griffin for my husband or get someone else to do it for me. I’m thinking of having it colored like an orange tabby/strawberry tiger on the bottom and no clue on the top.
I still haven’t set paintbrush to the wolf I got for my son. I’m scared of the paints! I got one of the brands of acrylic paints recommended in the tutorial because I didn’t realize that craft paints were acrylic as well. Due to how much I spent on the three tubes I’m terrified to use them, but I would feel awful getting the cheap craft paints to paint it.

That’s pretty fair, that’s just about the exact thing I charge for comissions. Good luck with the auction Arlla! I’m sure it will make lots of loot for ya!

January 31, 2007 at 8:18 am #534504Ski, you were interested in this guy, weren’t you? Now’s your chance! ^_^ Im gonna go for it, but I still want a hazel one 🙂
January 31, 2007 at 11:48 am #534505Oh I love this one. I wish I wasn’t broke.
January 31, 2007 at 2:54 pm #534506I love him too, but I’m still waiting for my husband to paint a griffin for me and he was talking for awhile of painting it to look like our tabby cat Merlin. So I’d better not bid on yours, Arlla. It’s gorgeous though! Good luck and I hope you get lots for it.
January 31, 2007 at 5:35 pm #534507Lol, now I feel I’m pricing my commissions too cheap! Except for griffins…I charge $200 for those if they need special patterning. I don’t like doing griffins nearly as much as the others…maybe because I started off doing them and did too many before new sculpts came out and got tired of ’em. Maybe we should create an area where the artists can list their samples and their fees, for anyone off ebay wanting to find people who custom paint windstones…that way they can see everyone’s styles at one time and this would help everyone get commissions and not just those who post already made pieces on ebay…just a thought. I’d have no idea how to do that. That, and maybe set an area where artists trade with others and we can keep it all straight…I can’t wait to get one from you Arlla and I will begin your wolf trade soon.
