You remember back in August a lady put an old green emperor up for bid on eBay but he looked funny (color}? Well I sent her a question about it and she emailed me some more pictures. I think the picture on eBay was taken in a funny light or something., Anyway I won him for only $355 and it took awhile to get him because I was out of town during the end of the auction and I had asked her if I was the winner to wait until I could send her a fitted box from another emperor and she agreed. Much to my surprise I got him and by the time I got back she was gone so I mailed her the box and when she got back she mailed me the dragon. The way he was pack he could have been dropped off a 10 story building and survived. He is pretty much the same color as my old green fledgling and curlie. I’m happy now all I need is the brown emperor and peacock kinglet and I’ll have all the old ones I want.

September 20, 2009 at 6:11 am #784049Congratulations! That’s a rare find. 🙂 And a fantastic price. The only emperor I have is the brown, also off eBay. My boyfriend bought him for me, no way could I have afforded him on my own.

He really is in great condition considering his age. There are a couple of small nicks in the paint and one gold toenail needs paint otherwise he is OK – no broken parts.

September 28, 2009 at 1:02 pm #784057Awesome find, congrats!! I like those old ones they seem more “natural” in their colors, closer to earth colors. (And I love earth colors, being a Leo 😀 )

Are you shipping him out to be fixed?

I might but he mainly needs a coat of gold on the toenail – it’s not broken the finish is just gone and the chips on him are pinhead sze. -
