Hi Melody,
I soooo miss the “old” green dragons – I believe I have all that were created – I collected them when they originally came out – but now you have so many new Dragons it would be wonderful to get the new designs in the original colors to match the rest of the “family”
Will that ever be a possibilty ?
Also in my “original” family – they all have orange colored eyes – except for my father male dragon – his eyes are golden – was that normal back then ? cause I bought them all from the same store.The original “old” green family was made up of the mother, the hatchling, the male, the young and the emperor. So far the only extras that have been added to the old green line were the fledgling dragon and the curled dragon. Both of which are limited production pieces.
Seeing as the green fledgling is no longer in the online store it is quite possibly retired.
Part of the problem with making more dragons in the old green color is paint supply. The old color would be fairly expensive for them to have mixed up if I remember right.

It isn’t impossible to mix more “old green ” paint , but I thought it was neat to use the same batch of paint for the newer ones.

Pegasi listed all the dragons that have been made; unfortunately Melody has said that the old green paint is in extremely limited supply, and that they would have to order such a large quantity of it to have a new batch made up that it wouldn’t be cost effective. Thye couldn’t use it on any of the sculpts that it has been made in already, since they have been officially retired. (fledglings are the one exception, since they ar a limited production item that hasn’t yet been retired, she’s said she’d make another batch of them). Unfortunately, even though that leaves a fair number of sculpts, since they’d probably be limited production store items and the market for them would be somewhat limited, they probably couldn’t sell enough to make the purchase worthwhile. 😥 I still hope to win the Lotto and buy them a batch!
To my knowledge, all of the old greens had orange eyes, though the shade can vary depending on production date and even method, since some of the oldest dragons were in old green. Early in Windstone history factory workers were allowed to paint up a sculpt however they wanted to take home for Christmas, so there may be some oddballs floating around that were custom done by/for an employee. Since you say you bought all of your dragons from a store, yours are probably usual production models. Some of the older males have differences about the eye socket, though. Do you have a photo of your male? You do have to make 5 posts before you can post a photo.
I have photos of all my old green dragons (all of them yay!) in the 2 stickied “Photos of Dragons” threads in the ‘General Windstone’ forum. We’d love to see your dragons there or in the “Show Your Collection” thread!
The fledge and curlie were done in the newer, glossier/darker version of old green. You’ll have to find a curlie second hand if you don’t have one, I think someone is selling one in the For Sale forum now. Of the production pieces, the emperor is one of the harder pieces to find (and sought after) of all the Windstones.

I would give anything for an Old Warrior in the “old green” color scheme – saving up now 😀I did take a photo of my dragons but I can’t figure out how to display on the site 🙁
All of my Dragons through were purchased years ago by myself at Wicks & Sticks – and I never really noticed the difference in the males eye color until years later – I had always thought they were all the same – but his are not – if I ever figure out how to post the photos – I could show youtroublelmc wrote:if I ever figure out how to post the photos – I could show you

OMG!!! So many more followers in the old green…It’ll be hard to get the pieces we all want if they are in small numbers. 😮 Seems like that color is really picking up and gaining steam all the time! 😀
